  1. Congrats @pie333!!! Mine still says under review. This wait is gruelling!! But I guess we should know in the coming week or so.
  2. Hey everyone, I've gotten the same message from ualberta as well. Hopefully we'll hear something soon! Random question though, not sure if anyone can answer this, but can anyone speak to the strengths of UofA's epi stream as compared to SFU's population health stream? I guess the epi stream is a lot more focussed on one subject area, but would it be possible to work as an epidemiologist later on even though you did not specifically obtain an epi MPH degree, but an MPH in something else?
  3. @MPHsal hello there- thanks! I received it via email first and then by mail, which arrived today actually. Hopefully you'll hear back soon as well! It's still early in the season, they are probably going through people's files
  4. Thanks! And no, not necessarily. I heard that admissions roll in to the end of march, and sometimes into April, and even as late as the summer, as some people decline the offers. So don't give up hope yet, they are most probably still reviewing people's files. Also, I have a BA degree, and some experience in the health education field. I can get into more detail with you in a private chat if you want!
  5. Thank you!! I was offered acceptance to the Population Health stream. I wish you all the best, hopefully you will hear back soon as well!!
  6. @SFUFTW Great! thanks so much for the reply. I was offered admission to another stream (not global health), but I'm interested in perhaps doing my practicum abroad when the time comes, but we'll see when I get there. Good to hear you enjoyed the program, it definitely looks great!
  7. Congratulations to everyone that has received offers!! I received an offer from SFU a few days back, and i'm really glad! Quick questions to @SFUFTW: If you don't mind me asking, what specialty were you in at SFU? Also, during your time there, did you find that there were opportunities to do a practicum abroad (If you were not a Global Health student)? Thanks! All the best to everyone!
  8. Hello! Can't believe the time to apply is already here! Anyways, I am applying to the University of Alberta's MPH in epi, and SFU's MPH in population health sciences. Quick questions though: how large is SFU's MPH incoming cohort in a given year? Does anyone know? Also, how important in CEPH accredation in Canada? Is it mostly important if in the future one hopes to work in the U.S.? Thanks!
