  1. Thanks so much for the advice! I'll wait then to turn down the offer, and thank you for the advice on how to communicate to the other school. I wish you the best as well!
  2. I had a question regarding accepting an offer between two choices: should I wait until I receive something in writing from the school I want to go to? It just seems weird to me to reply on a phone call before making such an important decision - and going over all the details that they will send in the mail. I, of course, want to be consciousness as possible to the other applicants, and will make my decision ASAP regardless. Also, does anyone know the best process of turning down an offer? I want to be polite and courteous as possible, and I liked both schools: really was a hard choice. I'm not sure if I should email the POI or the DCT...or what the best way to do this?
  3. Hello, I've been staying mostly away from the forums for a while ( was too anxiety provoking for me), but I'm wondering if anyone heard back from Kent State University ....if anyone one feels comfortable PM-ing me (and I understand if anyone doesn't), it would be most appreciated. This is one of the schools I like most, and they finished interviews on February 17-18. I think a few people I saw have already got emails from their POI (last Wednesday or Thursday), so I'm not sure if I should give up hope completely yet, or if PI's email students at different times, or if I will be contacted back being wait-listed or not. Do schools contact you about your status either way (accepted, wait listed, rejected, etc)? How long is acceptable to inquire about your status with the admission departments if you don't hear back? There is another school that I contacted for an update that put out their decisions much earlier (over a month), and didn't contacted me back after I emailed the director of the program to inquire on my status - although I know the schools are busy, and maybe they didn't see/have time to reply, especially if I'm not being considered. I know that I probably didn't get in to that school, but it would be great to be notified for peace of mind when I'm making my admission decisions.
