Michigan took too many Soc PhD students last year, so I've heard they're only going to take a few students and that's why it's taking them longer to decide.

If University of Michigan is sending out acceptances for joint soc. and social work today, doesn't that mean that they should send out the soc. acceptances today or tomorrow too?! Wishful thinking maybe...

Does anyone know why some schools, like UCLA for example, seem to be sending out acceptances every few days rather than in rounds? I haven't heard back and have no clue what to think about this. It sounds like quite a few people have been accepted already though.

Hi all. I received an email from UChicago to interview, but I didn't realize they do interviews. Is this a somewhat bad sign that I'm close to the cutoff point and they are trying to decide? Or do they interview a lot of candidates?
