Check spam! AND CONGRATS!
Nothing in spam, but my FPA was CC'd and just forwarded it to me. Thank you!! I can still barely believe my eyes.

Just got a " Congratulations On Your Fulbright U.S. Student Award " e-mail, but still nothing with (P) in the subject... anxiously awaiting that second e-mail, as I've been burned before (UCSD accidentally sent me an acceptance once). Cautiously celebrating that I am likely going to Norway next year!

I realize this is an overdue question and it was briefly discussed a while ago -- but do any of you with research affiliations think that Fulbright commissions are checking in with your proposed PIs at host universities?
I think the answer is "sometimes", possibly if they have a specific question or concern. They contacted my PI when I applied to Norway in 2013 to ask if he would be willing to help me find housing. Didn't hear anything this year though.

Denmark, Sweden, and Finland have all notified... leaving Norway (the country I applied to) as the only Nordic country that hasn't notified yet. I'm not sure if having this information is helping or hurting my psychological state. Phew!

Hey all, so the EU research grant and Denmark Research notified today. OMG. (My FPA is keeping us all posted).
Whoa, that's the earliest Denmark has notified in recent history!

Hi everyone,
Christine here - I'm a semifinalist for study in Italy. This is my first time applying for a Fulbright, so many thanks to all of you for the wealth of information you've shared here. I've been hesitant to chime in (though I've been following along for a while), but I wanted to share an article I came across from The Atlantic about the State Department under the Trump Administration. Apparently things are pretty quiet there these days. Not sure if this means anything for Fulbright, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.
"This is probably what it felt like to be a British foreign service officer after World War II, when you realize, no, the sun actually does set on your empire,” said the mid-level officer. “America is over. And being part of that, when it’s happening for no reason, is traumatic.”
Wow, that's heavy.

T-minus 5 minutes (give or take) till we find out... We'll either be crying or celebrating but we'll all get through it! Good luck!
Thanks! I've been lurking for the past few days and it's helped to know that I'm not the only one frazzled about this.
