  1. I still think all us UK applicants from PNW/WA should get together for a drink to celebrate/grieve
  2. NS as well. I'm not surprised, esp since I didn't interview and UCL hasn't awarded for anything other than STEM or global policy in the last 10+ years. Plus, my topic may have been too sensitive for the UK: examining how Britain utilized art to create an enemy other in order to distance it's royal lineage from Germany and legitimize its WWI campaign. Best of luck to everyone else and CONGRATS to all the awardees!! I'm rooting for all of you :-)
  3. @Horb & @maelia8 CONGRATS!!!!! @inkstainedarm Amazing!! @Dilemma1 so sorry :-(
  4. I accepted my offer last year and deferred so I could try for the Fulbright. There is one scholarship I qualify for that covers half-bursary, but that's it. I really don't want to go in more debt for an MA!
  5. @minswho @inkstainedarm Totally! I leave for Bend OR a week from today so I will either be celebrating or heavily self-medicating in craft beer heaven. Either way beer will bee involved lol. I can't take this stress any more...Although the Fulbright would be AMAZING and make my life a million times easier and fantastic, I'll be studying at UCL regardless. So even if I get the dreaded NS (very likely since I didn't receive an interview), at least I know I'll be in the UK later this year
  6. I'm actually an East Bay Cali native, but now in North Tacoma/Ruston. So yes, very rainy! I think that weather makes me more productive lol. If it's gray and gloomy might as well spend it writing or in a museum, archive or library, right? If we all get it, we'll have to form a WA to UK group!
  7. I find it rather funny (perhaps not coincidental) that so many of us applying for the UK partnership are in Washington. That is CRAZY! Also, I ran out of likes so CONGRATS to all you new Fulbright awardees!! Woohoo!
  8. So looking at the dates chart, the UK has notified on the 3rd Monday or Tuesday of March pretty much without fail, excluding for 2015. If they stay on that track, then us UK folks will be looking at notifications either the 20th or 21st. Basically one more week of torture.
  9. Study/Research in UK (UCL) for History of Art. I feel your pain--I hope the UK answers soon!!
  10. Love seeing all these early notifications! CONGRATS to all the awardees--Cheers!! Now if only the UK notifications can come a little earlier too!
  11. @inkstainedarm and @jlking9 I am in the same boat as you two! I applied for partnership with UCL and I still haven't heard either. We could all be rejected, they could be taking longer this year (not surprising with some of the issues going on in our country) or perhaps they aren't doing as many interviews as before. Who knows . Unfortunately, there are just too many variables which mean we have to continue the nerve-racking process of waiting it out for more results Hopefully it's good odds that so few of us UK partnerships have heard anything and it means a delay not rejection. Best of luck to you two!!
  12. Wow--that's a great reference and great to know! I'll still be a ball of nerves waiting, but at least I know it is not definite--THANKS & CHEERS to you too!!
  13. Is that true for the UK? I know some places like Germany do not interview, but the Fulbright page for the UK partnership with UCL seemed pretty explicit that there would be an interview if you were considered.
  14. It made my stomach drop too seeing that!! Nonetheless, I don't think so, or at least I hope not! Based on the info from last year the dates varied somewhat (2/2, 2/3 and some even as late as 2/10). So us UK semi-finalists who haven't heard still have a chance. Sadly, the waiting game continues...ugh.
  15. Thanks for the tip!!! I've been prepping ideas on what to say for Trump if I make to an interview--good to know the likelihood is 100%. I was getting confused on exactly who was interviewing since the decision comes from FFSB, but then there was a UK panel. So glad to know it is the UK panel that (if interviewed) we will be speaking to!!
