I'm wondering if some people have already accepted their offers and the schools have not followed up with us regarding our waitlist status. It could also be that some people who have offers are on a waitlist at their top school. I guess it would be in everyone's favour if schools notify their wailist on April 15. Hopefully that's the case
Especially since the funding results are out, I'm really hoping people are making their final decisions now because I'm not sure how long the second round of offers get to decide if say someone got offered on the 14th.

Do you know how many people got in in the first round?
Don't have an exact number but from what I was told it sounds like enough to fill all spots if everyone accepted. Hopefully some people will receive other offers and reject soon

Has anyone here been accepted to Dalhousie or know of people who have? Just got off the phone with the secretary, they said that in past years all their spots have filled in February from the offers handed out in January, but this year barely anyone has replied so they haven't even considered who's getting second round offers yet. You would be saving a lot of people from waiting if you please made a decision quickly

did you just receive it? I've been waiting for my inevitable rejection endlessly!
Yes I did.

Rejection here too! All the best to those accepted and the best luck to those who are on wait-listed!
I just feel that the grad school application itself is an enduring and strenuous journey, of which the successful admission to the program depends on a basket of factors including professor and research interest, and school factors. It is so difficult that's why it is also very sought after, as it changes the career prospect of our lives.
It can be bumpy and heartbreaking when we realize all the efforts go in vain for the coming academic year, and it's haunting when you think about how much materials to prepare all over again for the next one. This is no easy task, but we aren't battling alone! I somehow feel that getting rejected is better than rejecting others, because it means you stand a chance next year and will not leave hard feelings on the admission committees should you return to that school!
Getting a rejection can be due to competition against better candidates, unmatched research interest, or the professors have already been selecting students before we know it! It may not be personal, and we always have a second chance if we are determined this is the path to go!
Having an answer is better than having dead silence
I definitely needed to hear this!!
It's true, there are so many factors involved. It's a privilege to even have the opportunity to apply. I'm confident in the fact that we'll get to where we need to be eventually!

Hey sorry to hear that guys! Did you receive an email or a letter in the mail? Could you also please tell me if your portal updated on the application site? I have not heard anything from UVic yet

Thank you! Any information helps!
Superfruitpsych - Congrats to your friend! That is awesome. All of the people I met at interviews were absolutely amazing, so I am confident in saying she deserves it! If you don't mind my asking, did she apply to the Clinical Psych PhD or MA? Does she think she'll accept?
FacelessMage - If I hear anything about the wait-list or rejections, I will be sure to post about it here. I do know there is a wait-list, but I do not know anything about the size or likelihood of anyone being accepted from it.
Hi it was the MA, I think she will be accepting.
At this point I don't know if I'm dreading or looking forward to April 15, can't wait for all this uncertainty to be over!!!

Anyone apply to the University of British Columbia - Okanagan? Have you heard anything? If accepted or wait-listed, do you think you'll attend? I believe offers have been extended, is it likely there will be a second round?
12 hours ago, FacelessMage said:I've heard absolutely nothing from them.
Hi guys, I did not apply but my friend did and she has been accepted, not long after the in-person open house/interview day. Not sure if there are second rounds. Hope that helps

Don't know if Dalhousie does second rounds... I know several people that applied there and hadn't heard anything at all yet.
Also, did anyone on here apply for Counseling Psych at UOttawa? I haven't heard anything yet and it's been months!
I interviewed in December and they said they do early acceptances and then a second round March/April, not sure if that has started yet. I asked my POI for an update on my account and was told that there was no update but again April 15 is that main deadline

Is anyone else who applied to Concordia but hasn't heard about their application status receiving emails and postal mail from their School of Graduate Studies (Connect2Concordia)?
I've been spammed with those, I'm finding that pretty annoying especially since I didn't even get an interview!

I believe interviews for clinical psychology at Calgary were conducted in January and the visiting day was in February
I've been told that the initial round of offers have gone out for Calgary.

I do - she is now a very successful/respectable clinical psychologist (wait-listed and admitted at SFU). Granted that was 20-ish years ago, but still... I am also on two wait-lists - trying to be prepared for both outcomes!
Also, what this person said
On 01/03/2017 at 5:58 PM, hsnl said:I don't know anyone personally, but if you look at the admissions stats for most schools you can see that pretty much all of them extend more offers than there are available spots. Like at Ryerson in 2015 they had to make 15 offers for an incoming cohort of 9, and I've seen similar numbers at other schools. Don't give up hope yet
Wow that is so awesome to hear! Thank you both!

Does anyone know of people who were waitlisted and actually got accepted eventually? I'm not really feeling hopeful :S

I am also waitlisted, would that person also please message me I would really appreciate it Congrats!

Is anyone still waiting to hear back from SFU? Congrats to the person accepted! Could you please message me your POI?

Thank you for the info. That is very weird. Maybe they've wasted so much time on the technical problems that they've just given up on doing anything else admissions-related XD
There isn't a standard interview protocol at Ottawa - some professors will interview and some won't. Confusing I know!

Has anyone heard from UBC or SFU at all??
My best guess is that by the end of the month SFU should get back to people?

Congrats to the person who got waitlisted at SFU for the PHD program! Would you please mind sending me your POI? Also does anyone know the difference between MA/PHD for this program? I was under the impression it was combined.
