  4. but really umd is best of those four? what is second best? i would have expected johns hopkins to be good at math bio :-( oh well
  5. I applied to Brown's computational biology and applied math. the computational biology hasn't respond yet... I applied to Cornell's computational biology which should have trickled over to applied math if they didn't accept me... :-(
  6. So, I've been accepted to a few program: JHU, UCI, UW and UMD for Applied Math. My interests are math bio/bioinformatics/compuational bio (anything really mathy and bio - maybe even more scientific computing or pde and bio) I am still waiting to hear back from 5 programs - harvard, nyu, brown, cornell, bu.... but I will assume if they havent' responded by now they don't want me? Is this the case?? I was wondering of the top four which would be the best to go to for my interests if funding wasn't an issue?? Funding is an issue as UW doesn't offer me anything but I might get an RAship... Thank you for the help!
  7. I think Rice and Carnegie have better names outside the field, inside can't tell... I go to Maryland though and it's considered the worst city - crime-wise.
  8. How is the applied math program at JHU?? Are they respected? Also, would it be better to go there if youre interested in Math bio/bioinformatics stuff?
