  1. Does anyone get official email from NSF with login ID to look at the rating sheets? By the way, I'm not getting the NSF this year (which is my second time applying, and I am a first year graduate student this year). Does anyone know if I still have a chance to apply again next year?
  2. Oh yeah, what is wrong with that "Name" thing on the list?
  3. For those who got the award, have you ever published anything yet when you were undergrad?
  4. LeNea, I think it really depends a lot on who was evaluating your application. Two years in a row for HM is ridiculous! Now I am waiting to see what they put on the rating sheets.
  5. I'm not on either list. I'm not so surprised since my NSF login page never changes. See, never trust those from NSF who answered the phone.
  6. math123, I'm with you too. My name is not on the list. I'm getting nervous.
  7. See, the person I called saying something different. She told me that the results will be available late this week, and Wednesday at the earliest. I then asked her if she can tell me how many awards are given out this year, and she refused to answer my question. She said that they are still waiting on the final award confirmation from the NSF, which I don't know what it means really.
  8. monkeywrench, How do you know that not all of the notifications are visible online yet? Just curious.
  9. math123, My essays were reviewed and polished by my scholarship adviser, so I don't think there is a problem with the English skills. I still remember that one of the panelists last year commented on my application that my essays were well-written. I'm not trying to be so pessimistic, but to tell the truth. If we don't face it and still have a high hope, then we will be so very disappointed when the results come out.
  10. According the my experience from last year, they will send out an email rejecting you for the award. And that's it. That will be all you will get from them. Then they will clean up the applications, and you can't log in any more if you are not fellows. Oh, yeah, they will give you user id and password so you can log on to their web page that has the rating sheets. There, you can read whatever the so-called panelists commented on your applications. Last year, they had three rating sheets for each application. And the comments differ among panels; some say this, some say that. I think this is not about you are a good student or not, but it depends on who is reading your application.
  11. Trust me, guys! If you log in and don't see any change to the fellows page, it means you don't get the award. It happened the same thing last year when I applied. This is my second time, but I know I already lost it since my applicants page never changes to fellows page. Don't listen to those NSF people answering your phone. They tried their best to have a sympathy for you, but the fact is they've already done with updating those applicants who get the award!
  12. Does anyone applying under Electrical Engineering see something yet? I never see it, so I guess I fail.
  13. Can someone please call the NSF again to verify? I called and the one who answered my phone said that the results won't be out until Wednesday at the earliest since they have to wait for the final award confirmation from the NSF. I'm not sure what that means. Looks like different persons give different answers. I guess I'm on the losers' list since my NSF page is still the same thing.
