  1. Hello everyone, Just like many others before me, I'd like to make some sense about this whole application process. I am currently working as an intelligence analyst for a very big company and have worked as a researcher in my field at a university in my home country where I taught an MSc course together with a professor and conducted independent research. I have written about 7-8 reports for the government of my home country and 2 published articles of which I am the second author. I already have two masters degrees in my field (highly specialized) and would like to pursue a PhD in Political Science. I would think this is a good starting point for a PhD application. However, the GRE is what bothers me a bit. I have taken the GRE and my scores were not great; in fact, they were not very good (V:156/Q:146;AW:5). The AW score is pretty decent but my Quant is horrible and my Verbal could use some improvement. My absolute top choice is the University of Washington, but am also applying to UVA, Oregon State and Texas A&M. Is anyone able to shed any light on what my chances are? Thanks!
