I’m an alternate for Intermediate Arabic. I’m trying to remind myself that making it THIS far is such a huge deal considering how many apply, but I’m still feeling bummed. At least there is still an inkling of a chance. 

Alternate for advanced Russian.
Not the best choice, but I'll take it considering this was my first year applying and hope for the best. Guess I have to finish my Gilman scholarship application now, haha.

Hi everyone! I just got the email that I am an alternate for advanced Arabic. (I've been lurking here for a while and finally made an account.) Although I'm honored and of course hoping for the best, this is the second year that I have been an alternate and I am not looking forward to having my summer plans in stressful limbo for the next few weeks/months as they were last year.

I think the results will p come out sometime this week. I have a sneaking suspicion that it might be this Friday but who knows. It could just as well be next week.

It confirms that the 2019 site will be Okayama University, which is the first time a National University has been selected as the CLS study site. It also confirms that there will be 26 students in the Japanese cohort in total.
 
Moreover, I found a list of rankings for national universities in Japan. Shanghai Ranking ranks Okayama University just below Keio and a few spaces above Waseda.

lol if we're speculating, I vote for March 13th

I'm kinda like, a pessimistic person I'd say - so the date I threw out there was completely unfounded (minus the guy who said 2 more weeks and my pessimism) lol. Sorry bud, but I do understand the anxiety bit. I've moved past that stage, personally. I think I'm too busy with school to be as stressed as before.
