  1. I got into two fantastic universities for my field of study. They are both in similar locations (three hours apart), similar sized universities, similar college towns, similar program sizes, and similar rankings (ranked 9 and 12 for the program). However, one has in-state tuition and the other is out-of-state. This may seem like an obvious decision, BUT my boyfriend will be going to grad school at the out-of-state school. I'm not really interested in a long distance relationship (I've been in one before and it was too hard emotionally for me). There is some chance I will get funding for the out-of-state school, but I wouldn't find out until the enrollment date. I really want to stay with my boyfriend because I really value the relationship, but I obviously don't want to be too in debt, although I will be going into a field that pretty much guarantees me a job that has decent pay upon graduation. Does anyone have any advice about this? Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
  2. Yeah, I didn't get that they took so freaking long to process my CSDCAS. I kinda thought the advantage of the online application would be that the information would be quickly processed. Mine was also sent out way past the due date and I got accepted to both U of I-UC and ISU so I'm assuming others had this problem. Also, it's so expensive! Really such a scam. The GRE is enough of a scam, now we have this b.s. nonfunctional common application too. I like it in theory, obviously. But charging so much per school when I'm basically sending the schools almost the exact information I put on the CSDCAS? Lame.
  3. I was confused by CSDCAS. Also, it was extra expensive and I feel like I filled out the exact same information I gave to the regular application anyway. What a ripoff. It could be useful one day, but right now I'm not very impressed.
  4. Oh my! I'm so happy I know that, I can cross NIU off my list.
  5. University of Illinois-admitted, waiting on funding info. Not expecting anything. This is probably my top choice. Indiana University-admitted, on waitlist for funding. Also a top choice. University of Wisconsin, Madison-waitlisted, removed myself yesterday from it University of Washington-rejected, not surprised. Washington State University-accepted, definitely not going there. It's more expensive than IU for out of staters and ranked lower. Illinois State-randomly checked website. Admitted. Not sure when we hear about funding though, I guess they're all on Spring Break this week. Northern Illinois-waiting to hear back, I'm assuming I'll be admitted. Emerson College-waiting to hear back, it's doubtful I'll be admitted. Portland State-waiting to hear back
