  1. Yes! I'm waitlisted at my top choice still and I really want an update but I know we shouldn't annoy them. We only have 6 days to accept other offers!
  2. I caved and reached out, if I've been rejected I'd rather know so I can plan my my moves elsewhere. Ugh, the limbo is the worst!! It's crazy we all just accept these insane turnaround times without totally losing our minds.
  3. That's awesome! Do you happen to know when they heard from the program? I'm always torn between annoying grad programs to see if they have updates and letting them take their time to work through their apps lol.
  4. Has anyone heard from LSU Media & Public Affairs/Mass Comm PhD by chance? They're the last program I'm waiting for (and they're my top choice). I know we still have about a month until we need to respond to our offers, but I'm definitely counting down the days!
  5. You probably got into Penn State! I got my rejection letter last week after attending the open house. I knew it was a very competitive program, but it definitely stung. I hope you get in!!
  6. Did you go to the Penn State open house by chance? I also got a rejection there (after the interviews + two day open house lol)
  7. Updating based on new feedback from programs. U Oregon - accepted w/ full funding + scholarship (which is AMAZING) University of Michigan - Rejected, no interview Penn State - Rejected after an interview and a two day open house LSU - Waiting to hear back after a two day open house and a combined four days where I had at least one interview with a faculty member per day. After the LSU open house, I've discovered that I'm really interested in their program. Both Oregon and LSU both had the most open, honest, and interesting faculty for my research interests. Penn State's rejection this morning was definitely disappointing after a fairly grueling two days of interviews and sessions, but I know it all happens for a reason I knew Penn State was a really competitive program, and that there was only 2-3 faculty members who had research that really aligned with me, so it was always a reach.
  8. That's what happened to me too - I kept going back and forth but they just have SO much faculty studying health com right now. (I also would love to never see another snow-filled winter again, I can handle a small amount but I am OVER wiping off my car every morning lol). Have you committed to LSU?
  9. I have my open house this week, but if I get an acceptance, I think I'll take it and head to Baton Rouge (and the humidity, ew). You said you got into Maine too, right? How was their program? I debated applying and talked to faculty and totally talked myself out of it LOL
  10. LOL, I was just watching the results page and saw someone post who must have the comm and media programs confused. They're both supposed to be some of the best in the country! Congrats again!!
  11. You already heard from LSU?! Congrats!! I have their multi-day open house this week before they make their decision about me lol. They're an amazing program.
  12. Were you at the Penn State open house last week? We're overlapping on our schools a lot! I'm waiting to see if I got a fellowship at Oregon (offered admission w/ full funding and consideration for a fellowship), but I hope you get in! I promise I'll let them know if I'm going/not going ASAP so they can offer my spot to someone else if I decline.
  13. I think they said the open house is Feb 18-19 for PSU, so that's probably their timeline for finishing prelim interviews? Are you a masters student at Penn State right now? It looks like SUCH a great program.
  14. I have a two-day virtual open house with Penn State, and a two-day virtual open house with Louisiana State this month. I interviewed with Penn State before I was invited to the open house, so fingers crossed that it's good news at the end of the road. I received an offer of admission from the U of Oregon this morning after interviewing with them last week. Pretty excited
  15. Back again! I have an interview with Oregon on Tuesday (as well as Penn State). Talk about a stressful day, but I'm super excited and hopeful!
