Yeah, I got and acceptance letter around mid last week. I know a couple more people here have posted the same thing. But don't worry, the more they make you wait the more chances you got of getting in.

Awesome man!! Yeah, RISD and YALE are incredible programs. If you go to RISD, and I go to MICA, we should exchange emails and work on something together sometime! I mean, you're from Taipei right? And I bet you're crazy talented. I'm an international student too (from Mexico). I think we could make some awesome multicultural stuff!

I'm leaning towards MICA, it has been my top choice for about a month now - I just love the school installations and am a big fan of Ellen Lupton's and Jennifer Cole Phillips' (plus their funding offer is nice lol). The only thing that might persuade me otherwise would be good news from RISD. By the way, congrats on getting into so many awesome schools! Which are you leaning towards?

awesome! yeah, GD is one that they receive the most applications to because of the programs' fame (MICA and SVA specifically with Ellen Lupton and Steven Heller as chairs), so I'm sure that's why they take their time in announcing decisions. And, I'm in Texas, so I'm sure it'll be another day or two before I hear anything. Thanks! and Congratulations again!

It does! MICA is actually my first choice for Graphic Design so, hopefully I'll see you there. I interviewed a couple of weeks ago and now I'm waiting to hear back from them. So, Hopefully by mid-next week I'll be in the know.

Update for those of you waiting on Cranbrook 2D MFA: "Elliott Earls, Designer-in-Residence and Head of the 2D Design Department is planning to turn in his first round of selections over the next week. The Dean of Admissions will be drafting letters then to mail to candidates. Please continue to be patient for a few more weeks. Nothing has gone out so far for the 2D Department."

Suzie, in terms of SVA and MICA I don't believe decisions have been released yet. This is what I know: SVA received +-450 applications, and interviewed around 40 people for 20 available spots, their decisions usually land around April 1st. MICA received +-250 applications, and interviewed around 20 people for 12 available spots. Their decision letters (including funding) mail out on the 19th of this month (tomorrow), then it's up to USPS and how far away you live. Also, SVA has a couple of spots open for 3-year programs and I'm sure MICA has something similar to that. Good Luck!!

Congratulations man!! That's such a big deal!! How did you find out?

I was called for an interview last week. But don't worry! I think some people get in without being interviewed. They also said they mail the letters March 16 (or 19) and you should know for sure by April 1st. Hope that helps!

Well, based on some of the posts on this forum. I think none other but the Graphic Design MFA program conduct interviews. So, are you applying for GD? I have a friend that went there a couple of years ago and he interviewed as well.

Oh, well they sent me an email requesting that I interviewed with them, it read: "The MFA Designer as Author application review committee ... are pleased to let you know that your application has been selected from over 260 submissions as a first round candidate for the class of 2012. The next step will be an interview with one of the co-chairs. ..." does that help?
