  1. I don't remember the name of the package, sorry. I only applied to the MSW program, and was offered it without applying (I also didn't know packages like this existed for MSW students!) I can definitely understand not wanting to get into debt for an MSW. I had really lousy aid offers from UChicago and Columbia and while they are excellent schools, they are definitely not worth (to me) the almost $100,000 debt. I'm a Berkeley grad, 3.5 GPA, volunteer/worked with diverse communities, and am finishing up my second Americorps year (yay Americorps!) Good luck with whatever your decision may be.
  2. Are you a typical student? Because if you are, even if you think you have TONS of experience, it probably isn't enough to make up for your GPA. My best advice to you is to take a couple of years (at least) and really dedicate yourself to social service programs full-time (either volunteer or job) and then apply. I went to Berkeley, had a 3.5 GPA (and had all the same qualifications you do) but I only just applied after graduating in 2007 because I knew how much more competitive having full-time experience makes you. Good luck.
  3. The email came from the School of Social Work. I will be declining because I am getting married and my partner has no matching schools in the area. Plus, I think I love California too much
  4. Got my financial aid package (kind of) Was offered a total of more than $34,000 for my first year (full tuition + $10,000 stipend) which I'm going to have to turn down Dang.
  5. Haha! Small, actually. Just one sheet of paper.
  6. The actually sent me a letter dated March 8, 2010. The letter was from the School of Public Affairs letting me know I should be receiving an email from the Graduate Department soon.
  7. Replying to myself because I actually just heard back from UCLA. I'm IN! I didn't apply for the fellowship deadline (Again, applied on the last day possible!) so that sucks, but I'll get in-state tuition. Think this might be the best bang for the buck option! Hurrah!
  8. I think last year's forum showed that UCLA gave out acceptances past April 15th?
  9. Another Columbia admit here! I've heard back from UNC-Chapel Hill (IN!) and have 4 more schools to go. I'm actually thinking I'll have to turn both of these down....I really can't afford to pay so much for an MSW. Have an interview with Berkeley and have heard....nothing from anyone else. I applied on the last day for all the programs so I know I shouldn't be complaining about the wait....but I will anyway Why can't they just let us know already!?!
