I want to thank everyone for the support! Unfortunately, I did not get the Fulbright ETA. I was disappointed to say the least but in my experience these things usually happen for a reason. For those who are waiting I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Good luck everyone on wherever you land.

Just got word. I didn't get it. Pretty devastated.

I'm so sorry. I hope you both enjoy the next stages in your study and research journeys,  wherever they may take you. Hope you're also doing something to treat yourself. It's been a long old wait.

Ireland is holding out on us!!

edit: no I have no clue if their commission has returned decisions but abdd14 and I have been freaking out too.

    Hi all,

I'm not sure if this will be any consolation or just make it worse, but as an Irish applicant to Fulbright I can tell you that we have not been notified yet either. I know last year's Irish applicants were notified on 16 March (2 days before American Fulbright applicants according to spreadsheet). Not sure if that's the standard pattern or anything but it is the only wee nugget of info I have.

    Beannacht libh go léir!

I must admit that the unexpected extended wait time is making my expectations plummet, which means less disappointment when notifications do come out.

Me too. I'm also half expecting to realise I somehow missed the rejection email, having nursed small embers of false hope this past while.

  4. Hello! I discovered this forum only a fortnight ago, have been lurking ever since, and wanted to pop-in to thank you all for sharing your experiences on your Fulbright journey. The kindness and consideration people have shown to each other, and to future Fulbright applicants, despite the potential for competitiveness is a great testament to the solidarity of this particular community. I am very grateful for people's generosity and openness, and for the work everyone has put into updating the Google Doc and keeping records. Thank you all.

As for myself, I am on the other side of the Fulbright equation, having applied to carry out research in the US next year. Last year's candidates found out before St Patrick's Day, so I am a little bit beside myself with nerves at this point.

Best of luck to all those who will be scattering to the four winds on Fulbright awards! And fingers crossed for those awaiting news still.
