Just an FYI for anyone waiting to hear back from SFU waitlist - just got an email saying that a lot of their accepted students have been taking their offers so no waitlisted students will be given an acceptance this time around.
Also - any Facebook group being made for USask MPH students starting this Fall? Would love to connect with some of my fellow classmates!

I got mine yesterday as well! I think the official letter we get from CGPS will outline what the conditions are. Since I graduate in June, I think my conditions will be that I have to send them official transcripts and proof of degree completion.
Okay gotcha. I already uploaded my degree certificate, I'm guessing I just need to send them official transcripts.

You may want to look into London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. They offer distance programs as well.
U of A's health promotion can also be done online I believe.

Just got my official acceptance letter via email from USask! Still not sure what the conditional thing means but oh well!

Congrats to both of you!!! I'm still waiting, kind of desperately, if you guys don't mind me asking, what are your stats? I wanna know whether I'm competitive or not. It's such a torture!!!!!!!
No worries, I have a BSc in Natural Sciences with a 3.71 GPA based on my last 60 credits (had to do an open studies year after I graduated to boost my grades). I have been working in science education for the past year both teaching and tutoring. I do a bit of volunteering work and my major role is with a health charity with whom I've been volunteering with since I was in high school at both the local and national level, so I mostly talked about that in my LOI. Hope that helps, feel free to PM me if you have any more questions or want more details .

My U of S portal changed to department recommend - conditional!

For anyone rejected, and anyone who thought of any, what are your back up plans?
Honestly, an MPH was my backup plan to medicine. So I've been looking into a backup to my backup plan haha. I've been thinking about doing a second bachelors and maybe coming back to public health because I really do like implementing policy and change on such a broad scale and then doing medicine after that - granted if anything decides to work out for me!

I also got a rejection letter from U of T health promo. Still waiting on SFU waitlist and USask!
-
Anyone get in via SFU waitlist? I'm still anxiously waiting.

Has there been any rejections sent out for UofT's MPH health promo stream?
I'm desperately waiting for an answer from them too.

@lattes hey, how do you know what number you are on the waiting list at SFU?
I found out I was waitlisted via email and my position was mentioned in that email.

Oh wow, we totally feel each other's pain! U of A was my top choice so I feel pretty sad about being rejected.
I applied to the Social Inequities and Health stream for SFU. I'm in position #3 on the waitlist which scares me a little because it could really go either way.

Rejected from U of A as well. Still waiting on U of T, U of S and if my position on SFU's waitlist moves.

@NorthernGalMPHHopeful and to anyone else who will find this useful, just got this email from U of A:
Thank you for your e-mail and interest in our MPH programs here at the School of Public Health.
I do not recommend checking the status of your application in your Bear Tracks as the information available there, may be incomplete.
If you have not received an update on your application or your admission decision yet, you can check on the status of your application by visiting the applicant portal via the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research website. You will be notified via the portal as to whether your application has been successful or not any day between now and the end of April. -

Hey,
U of A applicant here as well. I do not think your bear tracks to do list is relevant until you are offered an admission. In order for them to make a decision on your application what was outlined on the SPH page should be enough. I understand the stress and constant checking and looking for any signs, but I am sure you all did enough from the what is required perspective. Same goes for the priority numbers as well.
Thanks for the re-assurance! Good luck to all of us!

did your application have a priority number assigned to it too? (only on Bear Tracks- not the other Portal)
Yep - it said 1
-
@NorthernGalMPHHopeful You're welcome! I haven't checked my Bear Tracks until today, I've just been looking at my application portal (which was dumb, I should've been more vigilant). Then I saw that I needed to send official transcripts a long time ago and sent them today, praying this doesn't ruin my application. Moral of the story - check your Bear Tracks people!!
-
Has anyone checked their Bear Tracks portal and had a to-do list item asking to send them transcripts? I thought all we had to do was upload transcripts onto the applications portal when we applied.

Hi everyone,
I've been creeping on this thread for a really long time, thought I might as well join in on the conversation!
Like all of you, still waiting on U of A, U of T and USask. Queens seems like a no-go for me since all it says on my application portal is "application complete" and I've noticed quite a few posters on here being accepted or waitlisted.
I'm currently waitlisted at SFU currently for Social Inequities and Health Stream.
Good luck to everyone!
