  1. I just graduated from The College of William and Mary with a degree in International Relations; however, due to family medical emergencies and choosing a original major that I did not fully understand or like, my overall GPA is only a 3.04 (my major GPA, on the other hand, is a 3.58). I have taken the GRE (I scored a 165/166), but I'm nervous about how grad school applications are going to go with my GPA being as low as it is. I have some factors that help make me more competitive (I am Middle Eastern and speak 3 languages fluently and have excellent extracurriculars/recommendations), but I'm not sure how much these non-academic aspects will influence my application. Currently, I am interning for the United Nations Headquarters in New York for the next 6 months, and then will be starting another internship with UNICEF at the Vienna office in January. My goal is to eventually work for the UN; however, my boss already implied that most professional jobs are set aside for those with a Master's degree and that, in order to be competitive, one must have gone to a solid program. What are my chances of being accepted at a good Masters program next year? Can I get into one with such a low GPA, and would applying to international IR schools help my chances? If so, which ones do you recommend? Thank you!
