Hey everyone! I am new to this forum and am applying to MSW programs this year. I am wondering if I have a competitive background for the schools I am applying to. I haven't really been able to find good answers on average stats for MSW programs elsewhere. Schools I am applying to: University of Pittsburgh, University of Pennsylvania, Salem State University, West Chester University, SUNY Albany, and SUNY Buffalo GPA: 3.5 from a competitive and fairly highly ranked public state university in NY Major: Music with classes in Music Therapy, Introduction to Psychology, Philosophy of Education, and many other liberal arts/social science courses. GRE not taken nor required for any of my programs Letters of Rec: Two will be very strong and one will be somewhat strong (prediction) I do not have professional, paid experience in the social work field but have highlighted some volunteer experiences from university and current as well as two internships that can be seen as related to the field. I am wondering if this will hurt me. Personal statement is strong and edited to the best of my ability. I have strong writing skills, according to my professors from my school.
