  1. Undergrad Institution: UC DavisMajor(s): Genetics (BS) and Psychology (BA)Minor(s):GPA in Major:3.31Overall GPA: 3.32Position in Class: (No numbers needed, but are you top? near top? average? struggling?)Type of Student: Minority; female (Pacific islander)GRE Scores (revised/old version):Q:164/159V:156/158W:4.5/-B: 730 (67th percentile) : Cell Bio 75th, Organismal 87th, Evo & Eco 28th ( i know, abysmal; I only took one class during college and that was almost 4 years ago); Don't even think I will submit this because i'm so upset with my evo and & eco percentile, even though I'm more interested in Molecular Bio and Immunology Programs TOEFL Total: (if applicable, otherwise delete this)Research Experience: (At your school or elsewhere? What field? How much time? Any publications (Mth author out of N?) or conference talks etc...) I had 14 months of research experience during undergrad in a molecular biol lab, no publications; By the time I go to school, I would have had 3 years of Industry experience in a small chemical and biologics company, mostly with antibodies)Awards/Honors/Recognitions: (Within your school or outside?) Dean's List last two quarters Pertinent Activities or Jobs: (Such as tutor, TA, SPS officer etc...)Any Miscellaneous Accomplishments that Might Help: Been on multiple posters and have been co-author on two posters that were presented at many conferences. Special Bonus Points: (Such as connections, grad classes, famous recommenders, female or minority status etc...) Female and Pacific Islander (minority)Any Other Info That Shows Up On Your App and Might Matter: I wasn't born in America but have lived here most of my life; I have a lot of research experience. Getting a LOR from undergrad Pi and supervisors from my current job: VP of protein sciences and director of protein sciences Applying to Where: Only PhD programs UCSF - BMS Scripps - Doctorate program hopefully Immunology, molecular bio or biochemistry Stanford - Immunology, Cancer Biology and Molecular Biology ( Biosciences Program) UCSD - Biology UCLA - Bioscience - Immunity, Microbes & Molecular Pathogenesis CU Boulder - Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology Arizona State - Molecular Bio USC - Biological and Biomedical Sciences WUSTL- Immunology Cornell - Biomedical and Biological Sciences Overall, I have a background coming from molecular biology and have been working most with antibodies for the last year and a half and really like it, so I want to go into programs that are more immunology related like T-cell and B-cell studies, otherwise more protein-protein interactions I know my GPA is low and I don't have the money or time to take more classes, what are my chances for these programs. My undergrad pI was the adviser for the genetics program and can definitely speak to the rigor of our Genetics major offered at UC Davis and I will mention having a rough first year since I am the first in my family to go to a UC but I still hope to get into a decent program. Do I have a shot at any of the top tier schools? Or maybe not even at the lower tier schools? Thanks for your advice
