Usually goes something like this: Person: Soooo what are you going to study in grad school?! Me: Geophysics. Person: Geo-huh? Me: It's like geology and physics... COMBINED! Person: Oh! Ok! Somehow that always seems to be an acceptable response, though I'm about 90% sure my answer didn't clear anything up.
