  1. I know the NGP sent out their first round and anyone that hadn't gotten a rejection or interview is on hold until their first round of interviews are done, but I don't know if that is the same thing for the IGP.
  2. Does anyone have any idea about waitlists with University of Washington (Seattle). I was waitlisted with the M3D program, but thats prior to interviews even. Is being waitlisted pretty much the same as rejected? Or have people actually been offered from the waitlist.
  3. I'm with you there. It seems like they are going in small batches or something. I feel like post holidays seems like the time for the rest of the apps. Someone had mentioned Feb 22 as the interview date so seems like they have some time still.
  4. So is it correct that Vanderbilt NGP is randomly reviewing and reaching out to people or is it a no if I haven't heard back from them yet? I see people taking about IGP but not as much about NGP. A lot of silence on my end right now making me antsy. I figured Berkeley metabolic biology would have been letting people know soon as well but I haven't seen anyone mention anything yet.
  5. Though I'm with you on feeling a bit pressured and anxious that people are hearing back, it is early and everyday more and more schools are sending out invites. Though it's next to impossible, relax and trust in yourself and your application. Good things will come soon enough. (It's helping me that I haven't really seen any of my schools on the results page yet.)

    Baltimore, MD

Hi Varun, I grew up in Michigan before moving out to Baltimore, so I'm a bit skewed when it comes to the weather here, but I'll give my least biased response. The weather is fairly mild during the winter, but still bites at night. Right now, we are in the mid 50s in the day and mid 30s at night, and it's pretty immediate once the sun goes down, the temp rapidly drops. We got like 2 inches of snow total last winter, but the temps in Jan and Feb were a little on the nippy side (like 30s in the day not counting the wind). Spring and Fall are pleasant but humid, the summer is scorching and humid and nasty. Like 90s everyday with the feels like above 100. I hate the heat though so there's my bias showing. As for tips, Charles Village is a nice spot to live, all the JHU undergrads can be found there. Fells Point and Canton are nice (where I live) and have some great eating spots. If you're bringing a car, expect to be frustrated with parking and please please PLEASE know how to parallel park. Always be vigilant walking around, groups are better to be in, especially at night. Expect between $600 and $900 for an apartment not counting utilities, and most meals out to eat are $15- 25, though you can easily go higher or lower depending on specials and where you are.
