It's higher than usual but definitely not twice as high. Yale's website says that they received about 350 applications in 2017.

Thanks for the clarification! I didn't apply for Yale's MA program so I didn't do much research on it, sorry for the misinformation. One of the programs I applied for usually has about 200 applications each year so I guess I mistakenly thought that 200 is usually the number of applications most schools will receive.

Yes. I think it's probably twice higher than what it used to be in the past few years.

My friend got accepted into Yale Stats MS and he said that Yale has received more than 400 applications, and I guess that number will probably be the same for other grad schools' program in Stats. The schools that I have applied have not come out with any decisions yet and my fingers are so crossed now... Also congratulations to anyone who already got some acceptances!

You definitely have a pretty good shot at all those programs.
Thanks for replying!

This is common. You need probability as part of math stat, so they'll definitely understand.
Thank you very much!

My undergraduate school lists both Probability Theory and Statistical Inference as Mathematical Statistics I & II. Will the committee be aware of this situation? Thank you very much.

I have emailed UW today and they say that they are still reviewing MS applications and the decisions will be out sometime in the next few weeks.
