In particular UW. In the last 3-4 years, the results page shows that master's decisions came out the same day or within a day of PhD rejections. However, rejections were released on Friday/Saturday and there's still no sign of MS decisions.

I have emailed UW today and they say that they are still reviewing MS applications and the decisions will be out sometime in the next few weeks.

It's higher than usual but definitely not twice as high. Yale's website says that they received about 350 applications in 2017.

Thanks for the clarification! I didn't apply for Yale's MA program so I didn't do much research on it, sorry for the misinformation. One of the programs I applied for usually has about 200 applications each year so I guess I mistakenly thought that 200 is usually the number of applications most schools will receive.

  3. My friend got accepted into Yale Stats MS and he said that Yale has received more than 400 applications, and I guess that number will probably be the same for other grad schools' program in Stats. The schools that I have applied have not come out with any decisions yet and my fingers are so crossed now... Also congratulations to anyone who already got some acceptances!

I haven't taken real analysis, but I guess it is usually not required for master student
