  1. I have emailed UW today and they say that they are still reviewing MS applications and the decisions will be out sometime in the next few weeks.
  2. Thanks for the clarification! I didn't apply for Yale's MA program so I didn't do much research on it, sorry for the misinformation. One of the programs I applied for usually has about 200 applications each year so I guess I mistakenly thought that 200 is usually the number of applications most schools will receive.
  3. Yes. I think it's probably twice higher than what it used to be in the past few years.
  4. My friend got accepted into Yale Stats MS and he said that Yale has received more than 400 applications, and I guess that number will probably be the same for other grad schools' program in Stats. The schools that I have applied have not come out with any decisions yet and my fingers are so crossed now... Also congratulations to anyone who already got some acceptances!
  5. My undergraduate school lists both Probability Theory and Statistical Inference as Mathematical Statistics I & II. Will the committee be aware of this situation? Thank you very much.
  6. Undergrad Institution: Top 50 US University Major(s): Statistics, minor in language GPA: 3.83/4.00 cumulative, 3.93/4.00 major Type of Student: International Relevant Courses: Linear Algebra (A), Probability Theory (A), Multivariable Calc(A), Mathematical Statistics (A-), Time series (A), ANOVA (A-), C programming (A-), Statistics computer skills (SAS and R) (A), I have taken other related (or required) classes for either A or A-, but I haven't taken statistical inference. I haven't taken real analysis, but I guess it is usually not required for master student GRE General Test: Q: 168 (94%) V: 159 (83%) W: 4.0 (60%) Programs Applying: Biostatistics/Statistics master Research Experience: none Pertinent Activities or Jobs: I have worked as an intern at an NGO for statistical genetics related project Letters of Recommendation: My ANOVA professor, my stats professor for both my probability and my research class, and my supervisor for my internship Programs I'm applying to: UW-Biostats (my dream school and dream program) Duke-Stats UW-Stats UNC-Biostats UNC-Stats U-Michigan-Stats GWU-Stats I'm wondering how strong my profile is, especially for my top choices. Also if anybody is willing to give me some suggestions on other schools as good choices for master in Biostats/Stats? Thank you very much!
