I'm applying directly from my undergrad, so I'm going through the combined MS/PhD program - and I'm not too optimistic about receiving aid to be honest. I hear a lot of people get admitted without aid, especially if they start from the masters level at Stanford? I haven't been contacted by any faculty.
So far:
Acceptances: Cornell, Princeton, Stanford (received a few minutes ago via e-mail, no funding info)
Rejection: MIT
Waiting: UIUC
I guess at this stage, I'm mostly curious about UIUC's decision, but not exactly anxiously waiting for a reply given my other offers...
I've heard of some rejections from Berkeley, but not sure if all acceptances/rejections are sent yet.
Also, for anyone interested, Cornell mailed out their decisions today.
I think the Princeton Electrical Engineering decisions have been sent. I got an e-mail this morning saying I'd been accepted, and that official documents were in the mail!
Well, my undergrad university has a system setup where the professors look over an application and then the ones who are interested in working with a student put their names on a list, you get sent a form e-mail with contact info, and then you arrange an interview. I love the way they organize things here. The other prof who interviewed me (over the phone) contacted me after reading my application. I have no idea how the other schools work with this, though. I got a bit too busy to research the professors & contact them myself, and I'm regretting that now.
Let's all take our minds off MIT for the time being.
Has anyone heard from any other schools? I've got one informal e-mail from Cornell saying my chances are good, an interview with a prof, and an upcoming interview for a fellowship, but no official decision yet. Also got admitted to my undergrad uni (in Canada). Haven't heard from MIT, Stanford, Princeton, or Illinois.
