  1. Hi, I have admits from the following programs (both unfunded). Automotive Technology - TU/e Automotive Engineering - Clemson University CU-ICAR Prospective Student and Current applicants please share your opinion on both universities. I want to specialize in Vehicle Dynamics and Control. Univ ranking is not of much concern to me as long as the program is great and serves the purpose. Clemson over TU/e 1. Cheaper. 2. CU-ICAR is awesome from what i have heard from everyone and also online reviews. 3. Very close industry tie-ups( i am yet to research on TU/e but CU-ICAR certainly has good tie-ups) TU/e over Clemson 1. Europe, Close to Germany, NL, Europe(Again) 2. Department is not separated from main campus. So very very good university life exposure. I want to experience that as well. I get a feeling that CU-ICAR will be like going to office everyday and getting Knowledge Transfers from managers for two years. 3. Close to Germany so good opportunities in vehicle dynamics and control. Every1 please give your suggestions. 2. Hi, Can someone please give me a bit more information regarding the Automotive Engineering program. I have read that the Auto dept is not within the university campus but is a separate campus located 40 miles away. Will this cause any problems. I was not too thrilled to know this as it limits ones interaction to limited students and faculty. What if I want to take up some courses from another department? Thanks.
  3. Hi, I wanted to know about the reputation and quality of the program(M.S in automotive engineering) at Clemson Univ. I received admit for the Fall 2013 program last week. I am waiting for decisions from other schools as well but in the worst case that this is my only admit is it worth pursuing masters program from the university?... My profile UG: Engineering from Univ of Mumbai, India (batch 2010) 2 years work ex in consulting firm(one of the big four) 2010 -2012 (current)1 year work ex in India's largest automotive organization at their research center. 2012 - present I want to work in the field of vehicle dynamics & control. Will the MS program at Clemson help me and post graduate studies are their jobs for international candidates. Also how expensive is the univ and town? Can I get a RA/TA or a job to help me with the expenses. Thanks. Shilp
  4. Thanks for the advice. Actually I was notified of the selection for the journal by the conference committee and the list of selected papers is also uploaded on the website. Doesn't it mean that the research paper has been selected for the journal or there is another level to this? Shilp
  5. Hi, I am from India and have applied for MS ECE fall-2011 at the following univs: Stanford University UC, Berkeley UC, San Diego UC, Santa Barbara UIUC Purdue Univ GaTech Virginia Tech Univ of Michigan, Ann arbor I have 3 research publications in ACM's International conferences. I was notified today that my latest paper has also been selected for an international journal(scholarly peer review journal). I think it is pretty cool considering that only 25-30% of the papers from the conference where selected for the journal. should I send this information to the universities? will it aid my application in any way. Thanks Shilp
  6. Ok. In that case I will just let the universities take their time in processing the application. Thanks a lot. Shilp
  7. Hi, I am from India and have applied for graduate admissions(M.S) for the fall 2011 term. I have applied in all universities using the online application and used self score reporting to give my official GRE score(appeared for it on April 6, 2009) My score is as follows V - 630 (90%tile) Q - 800 (94%tile) AWA - 4.5 (58%tile) Total - 1430/1600 I have reported this score in all my online applications. I also ordered additional score reports for the universities and they have been received by them correctly. A copy(hard copy: score card) was also sent to me yesterday). It lists all the universities where the score has been reported. However there discrepancy in the score. It now shows V - 630 (91%tile) Q - 800 (94%tile) AWA - 4.5 (67%tile) Total - 1430/1600 Will this cause any problems with my applications?...Do I need to contact the universities and inform them about this change?... Thanks Shilp
