  1. Hey everyone! Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do you all plan to pay for apartments while in graduate school? I was originally planning to live at home, but I am seeing that that will not work out. I have an assistantship that pays my tuition, and a small stipend on top of that, but I really do not have extra money for rent. I was wondering what everyone else has done to pay their living costs? Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone. I am a little confused about the April 15 deadline. I am applying to programs where assistantships cover tuition. However, if I have not secured an assistantship at this time, do I have to commit by the 15th? It was my understanding that the 15th was the deadline for if you were offered financial aid. Thank you for any and all help!
  3. I received an interview invite from a graduate program at my undergrad institution (where I presently attend). The website listed four interview dates, but I was only given the option of attending the last two. I cannot make either two (one because I will be in another state for another interview, and the other due to a commitment made back in August). Would it be acceptable to ask if I can interview with the program at another time, since I go to this school? Or is that not something most programs would accommodate? Thank you!
  4. Hello all, so I am doing my best not to panic. Today is my deadline for my graduate school applications (and is also a holiday, Martin Luther King Day). I have one letter still outstanding, so I emailed my professor to remind him. He just emailed back to let me know he has gone out of town, and will not be able to submit until tomorrow morning. Is this going to be detrimental to my application? There is not a grace period for reference letters, or so the admissions website says. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hello everyone! One of my former professors who was supposed to write me a letter of recommendation has just emailed to let me know that he has had a family emergency over winter break, and now does not think that he will be able to meet my deadlines for graduate school applications. My deadline is January 15, so I'm absolutely freaking out!! Should I ask someone else? Do I even have enough time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
