A high chemistry GPA is more impactful than the cumulative GPA (provided your GPA in math, physics, biology etc. is also high). Graduate schools will look at anything above a 3.3 I think, as long as you have good research, leadership, rec letters, and a decent GRE. One of these being a little low can be made up for by others.
