  1. Do they reject 3.9+ GPAs from top schools too? What if someone had both 3.9+ and 335+?
  2. ^ Programs in the 11-20 range will reject someone with a 335 on the GRE?!
  3. Did you mean you didn't hear back from their PhD program and only recently heard back for MAPSS? Why did you panic hide when nobody else posted?
  4. Has anyone else not heard back from Chicago yet? I'm guessing I got rejected from their PhD program, but I'm wondering why they're taking so long to tell me.
  5. You got rejected from UMass with a 337 GRE?!
  6. I had that same thought. I think they just meant all the grad programs at Yale combined and were too lazy to customize it by department.
  7. There are now four on the acceptances page and someone earlier in the thread claimed a waitlist.
  8. Thanks. I can finally stop waiting for them now...
  9. So historically, most acceptances for Harvard and Yale come out when? Is it late Feb or early March?
  10. Oh, I think there was someone else for PEG too. But the second guy said it was from the Chair of the department-- does PEG have a Chair?
  11. What about the guy earlier in the thread who said he got a phone call? Maybe they've already sent out all the acceptances.
  12. "After consultation with the program and after a thorough evaluation of your credentials by The Graduate School, I regret to inform you that you have been denied admission for graduate study at Northwestern University." I think phrasing it as "denied admission" was pretty rude, as opposed to "cannot offer admission".
  13. Yeah, it was rude making us wait this long and then the letter itself is rude.
  14. Just got Northwestern's rejection letter. It's written pretty rudely, in my opinion.
  15. Wow. What was your undergrad GPA and institution rank range?
  16. Does that require work experience? What's the difference between that and the regular political science PhD at Harvard? From the website, it looks like the PEG one only takes a minimum of three years.
  17. Are you sure about Harvard? I thought it’s usually the week after.
  18. What do you mean by evaluating analytic through a continental lens?
  19. What exactly is new materialism? Is it part of continental philosophy or analytic philosophy?
  20. Is the MA really that helpful for getting into PhD programs? I've heard you're pretty much expected to have a 4.0 in a Master's program.
  21. Wow! I guess as hard as it is to get into a PhD program, medical school much be much harder... How old were you when you started at Harvard, if you don't mind my asking?
