Hello everyone, I applied for PhD scholarship from Europe. Are there someone from Europe with some information? Now I can not even check my portal, I dont know if that is some tehnical problem, is that happened to someone?

Good luck people! And congratulation to those who already got :)

Same here. I think it's a technical problem.

    Hallo Everyone,

I applied for a summer intensive language grant for undergrad. students. Has anyone else had their Application Status change to funding and received no mails untill now??? What does mean?

It means you have been awarded. Just keep calm, you will eventually be sent an email in the next few days/week.

If your status hasn't changed don't despair - I think it varies per country. I got an acceptance email last week and there is no change to my status in the portal. I asked the NZ rep and there is still two more weeks until the formal letters are being sent from Germany, so it seems they are still making decisions -- there is still hope! Sending best wishes to you all xx

Yes, you are very right. updates varies per country.

Congrats :) did you receive an email? I only received email but cannot see declaration of acceptance on the portal.

No email yet. I just saw the funding status and declaration of acceptance link. I am yet to receive my letter of award. Probably it will come in few days/weeks.

Yes, I can just wait .. sucks that it takes them so much time. I have scrolled up a bit and saw that also some applicants from your country received rejection already, right? I think in that case might be sure you will get it

Yes you are right. An applicant mentioned that someone from my country received a regret mail from DAAD last week. So lets still be hopeful since we haven't received such message. It is not over until it is over.

ok, I fear it means I am rejected already because other than the changed funding period nothing has changed for me

Since you haven't gotten any negative response from DAAD, it means there is still hope. Don't conclude yet. After all, I haven't also been awarded. We are just being hopeful that it comes out positive at the end.

I don’t know any other applicants from my country (Costa Rica)

did your status meanwhile change to selection made?

Yes, my status is now "selection made" and It is the same with an applicant from my country. Our funding period now reads 01.10.2018 to 30.09.2019. We have both been experiencing the same change of status all this while

Ha Ha. Me too! I found a grammatical mistake in my proposal, and I obsessed over it for the last few weeks. I literally keep my sanity together reading the other funny topics on GradCafe ."Favourite Rejection Quotes from the Results page" had me laughing hysterically and of course think, it could be me next, who's gonna be posting :/

How is everyone else holding up...and remaining calm....or not...

Making a grammatical mistake is almost inevitable. The most important thing is that it shouldn't be much.  What they are actually looking for is your good command of English. They also understand that typos/mistakes are bound to happen. In my proposal, I noticed some typo/grammatical errors, but It is not much.

In my case, it is still the same data in the portal that I have entered initially during my application. They have not made any changes to it.

Okay, I initially thought it was a mistake on my side but I rechecked my application again and I confirmed it was changed by daad.  Really, I don't know why the fund period changed. I think the most important things is to get the fund. I am still hopeful though.

  10. I noticed my funding period has changed in my daad portal. I am a PhD applicant and I initially filled my funding to begin from April 1, 2018, and to end March 31, 2021. I checked last week Friday and noticed the funding is now from October 1, 2018, to March 30, 2019.

My application status still reads "paper copies received" (although, there is no interview for applicants from my country, Nigeria). Please is this change in funding date same for any applicant here?

I applied for the long term research grant (PhD candidate in Sociology). About a week ago I received an email confirming the receipt of my application and saying that the results will be announced in three weeks following the committee meeting in March.

Which country are you applying from?
