Hey so I had an interview with BU and it was pretty formal in terms of them asking detailed questions about my research, but it was also clearly a formality and primarily to figure out if I was actually interested in them. Got my acceptance soon after I stated I was interested. So I would say don't over prepare, but definitely be comfortable talking about your work!

So apparently my friend who works at Columbia right now the PI said that there were only like 2 spots for inorganic open this year, so they had to turn down a lot of people.

Just got my rejection from Columbia... Oh well.

I emailed Brown to ask about the timeline, they said they gave out some offers last week, and will be releasing more but are not sure when that will be. So don't give up hope yet!

What makes you think they didn't review separately? I think they're pretty different programs so I feel like they would review separately.

Very helpful, thank you! My friend who has gotten into every single school including top ones like Caltech hasn't heard from Columbia yet. So maybe I don't have to give up hope yet!

Anything from Brown, Columbia, or NYU? Those are the last ones I still have some hope for...

What about Columbia? I've seen a couple things on the acceptance page from international students, but have any American students heard back yet?

I feel like it is... I'm disappointed, really wanted to get some good news from Northwestern. Oh well.
