Hey everyone, First, congrats to everyone who received acceptances! I'm super thrilled to be on the same boat as you all. As for my question, it has to do with emailing POIs, particularly at the schools where I got rejected. Is it worth emailing them just to say thanks for looking over my application? Or would I be clogging up their inbox? All but one POI have taken the time to reply to my emails during the app season, so I never really followed up since other than the usual formalities.

Huh, that's interesting... I have searched the results page, but there isn't much data out there (not surprisingly), so I'm kind of at a loss lol Congrats on getting accepted! I'm only confused because I never received an acceptance, rejection, or a waiting list notification of any kind. Nothing changed in my application portal either.. it's just a "your application has been submitted" kind of deal.

Has anyone heard back from Cornell or Columbia for Musicology, PhD? It's March and I'm starting to think that no news by now is probably a rejection...

Hey! I hope you won't mind me pointing out that this particular thread is for prospective students who applied to Music programs, not the School of Public Health. The notifications are usually different for every field though there could be similar time frames.

Does anyone know if most schools do open days for accepted students? Or are there cases where some schools don't invite students to the campus at all?

It was for me, yeah. I opened the application and there was a status update dated February 1st which led me to a rejection letter. I'm all for receiving a "oops we made a mistake!" email though, ha ha.

Seems to be the case for ethnomusicology as well. I'm surprised that they didn't send any emails about the admissions' decision though. Mine says that the results were out since the beginning of February. Unfortunately it's a no-go for me (kind of bummed to be frank, since I really wanted to go there). Good luck to everyone else though!

Unfortunately not. Out of curiosity, where did you hear that they intended to get out the decisions by today?

Not at all, though I'm curious about the sole individuals who posted results for UC Berkeley (in ethnomusicology) and UCLA (in musicology). Waiting has caused so much anxiety though lol
