  1. Good luck to everyone tomorrow!

Probably the wrong day to ask a question but here goes. I've heard many say that they think certain schools prefer older students, which schools do you think feel this way? I know when y'all say older you still mean under 30. Well, I'm well past 30 but hoping to apply next year. So if there are schools that really seem to prefer oldies or freshies, I'm curious to know. IF they seem to really stick to younger people, I'd really like to know that too. I'm not going to base all my school choices based on whether I think I have a better/worse shot because of my age but still would like some insight. I know many have student profiles and I've read plenty of them but it's still hard sometimes to know who, if any, are a little older.

Any info would be most appreciated.

I contacted the program director regarding this requirement and she recommended a course through ed2go, and it’s the course I chose to take! There’s another course through coursera that she said was acceptable, but hadn’t had any previous students take before.

here are the links for both courses: https://www.ed2go.com/courses/business/communication/ilc/fundamentals-of-technical-writing

Let me know if you have any questions about the ed2go one!

I can answer both of these:

In Biochem there currently and I think it’s easier than my previous Biochem class. I currently have an A and received a C in a previous Biochem class. Manageable work load each week, teacher is very responsive and gives out extra credit like candy.

UAMS: I didn’t have a class and sent in writing samples from previous work experiences. She approved and “exempted” me from the requirement. Feel free to reach out to the program and the program director could give you some resources for courses that meet their guidelines if you don’t have samples.

Thanks a lot @AspiringGC! That is very helpful information about the biochem class.

Unfortunately I have been out of school a long time and my job hasn't really included writing. So, anyone have a good suggestion of an online technical writing class for UAMS?

    Thanks!

  4. Sorry to interrupt all the interview worries but I'm thinking of applying next year and have a couple of questions

Biochemistry from UCSD- I saw some have taken this. Was it super hard? I know Biochem wont be easy but is the teacher good?

Technical writing- I'm thinking of applying to UAMS and need to find an online technical writing class. Any suggestions?
