Why hasn't UCSD sent out rejections yet, anybody know?

Just wanted to put it out there that a student from my undergrad's Masters program got a total shutout from PhD's the first year they applied (though they came from an Ivy league undergrad) and got into Rutgers the second year they applied. Just goes to show this process can be a total shot in the dark.

Just remember, being waitlisted at NYU alone is a huge achievement in and of itself! And I see you still have some other great offers.

Can someone tell me how a person can be accepted into a well-regarded PhD program with funding, and get rejected from a Masters? I keep getting such weird, irregular feedback from departments. Is this application process seriously just a shot in the dark, without any kind of unanimity? Or is the reason I got into a PhD program because a cleaning person accidentally knocked over the applicant folders and misplaced mine in the "accepted" pile while hastily putting them back together?

Has NIU reached out to anyone about prospective student week?

Got Into NIU!! Did anyone else's acceptance letter mention funding information? Mine didn't say anything about it, should I be worried?
