Anyone else doing comp lit?
DorsalFins replied to Stella_***'s topic in Literature, and Rhetoric and Composition
I'd like to reiterate this but also to obviously choose whichever school best suits you. I hope my moaning doesn't somehow get subconsciously woven into any unduly negative thoughts about the school and ruin impressions or bias decisions in any ways. Also, congrats to everyone! If the wait list doesn't work out for me, turn a page or two for those that didn't make it (hopefully a good book, if you'd indulge me). -

I mean the questions seem to be clearly focused on if there was a place for the interviewed. What questions did y'all ask/what were their respective answers? -

Not sure if gradcafe is attracting more qualified applicants or if they're interviewing an absurdly high number of students -

What should I expect to see for grad school interviews? I have one this week with a top school (in my eyes), and would love to get an idea what to expect. -

I'll take his reading list, The Western Canon, any day of the week or month -depends on how long the book is. -

I'd take that over Yale -
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that Harvard's email servers are down, as I haven't already received my acceptance to their PhD in Comp Lit program. I was shocked that they've kept me waiting so long, my GPA and GRE are honestly a little out of their league, and even though they are my back-up safety school, I was still a little concerned about not reciving my acceptance and realized that a massive technology failure was the only logical explanation. Again, I just wanted to let everyone know to prevent any futher confusion or annoyance. Best luck with applications, and I hope the technology bug isn't hitting the other 5 grad schools I applied to too!
