Hi Everyone, I noticed that this thread slowed down. Does anyone mind posting what they received for their financial aid package? Please specify per semester. I am in the full-time 2 year online program, and got 9,000 scholarship aid per semester, 18,000 per year. I want to know if this is average or low. Any responses would be helpful.

I'm happy for you. I'm in a similar boat. I am waiting on my financial aid. As bad as I want to go, I dont think Columbia's program is going to make sense for me because I want to work while I go to school and they don't have a very flexible program. Other schools I got into are much more flexible with working adults. Even though my dad offered to help pay for Columbia.

My fafsa was selected for verification. Annoying! So i had to send them back additionam info. Its gunna take another week or so

Does anyone, beside me, need to work full-time while completing their MSW? If so, what program are you choosing? My agency won't agree to the reduced residency, because they are wack (I work for the government as substance abuse counselor) but I can go into the extended program.... I just don't know if its actually feasible to complete this program while working full time. Anybody?

Just an FYI to anyone reading this in the Future: I applied 3/3/18- Accepted 4/19/18 4.0 cumulative GPA. Columbia's deadline was 2/15/18. They extended it to 3/5 and I applied on a whim. I have a lot of community service and awards, been working as a substance abuse counselor for 3 years. Bachelors in English, Associates in Chemical Dependency Counseling. National and State Awards. Goes to show that applying late doesn't mean you won't get in.

I declined Fordham's acceptance. Columbia is taking forever and i don't think I'm gunna end up there. I think either way I'm gunna stick with University at Buffalo the price + quality is too good. Columbia would have to make me a very good offer and right now I'm unimpressed with their admissions department not a good impression

I think they are waiting on people to send in their decisions. I know i have extensions at Fordham and other schools. Probably other people just havent made decisions yet

I finally got the email that says "Your application is now complete and will enter the admission review process" How long until I get a decision?

Incase anyone ever reads this in the future i got in, around March 4th. They only accept 45 students to the online MSW.

LOL! So you know EXACTLY what I am talking about. Brooklyn would be perfect you could just take the subway then to class. look at me wanting to avoid to all-together. hahaha.. How can someone that counsels be so anti-social........ lol... which i am somewhat. I like get home at the end of the day from work and I'm like.. please.. no more people..
