  1. The UB Open Education Research Lab has an opening for a Graduate Assistant (GA), for the 2018-2019 academic year (with possible continuation for future years). This position provides a stipend of $19,000 (for the year) along with an in-state tuition waiver (9 credits) for both Fall and Spring semesters. The position requires a minimum 20 hours-a-week commitment. The UB Open Education Research Lab’s mission is to create, increase, and support emerging research on open education technology at UB, SUNY, and globally. Dr. Sam Abramovich directs the lab, where current studies on open education technology include education resources (OER), Makerspaces, and Digital Badges. GA’s will have the opportunity to participate in novel research, as well as publish together with members of the lab. Specific responsibilities may include: · Literature Review · Data Collection · Data Analysis · Research Design · IRB submission This GA position will provide unique opportunities for students who wish to be future Learning Scientists. Potential candidates should have knowledge of Open Educational Technology. The most successful candidates will have a strong passion for conducting research.
