  1. Has anyone looked at their career outcomes pdf??? It's a bit dismal. Most people are working as program assistants when they graduate. I got in with little funding (5000 a year) but they dont seem to have any idea what their graduates are doing or what they are making when Ive called. I'm worried it isn't a program that prepares people for employment. Have you guys found otherwise??

That would be cruel and unusual

I am going to assume no email is a waitlist sign. Hopefully I can be an alternate! but if not I'll grab your advice for next year.

I also assume that I'm either a "no" or "waitlist" for IFLI.  It does look like flagships have been notified from what I can tell?

I dont know I knew someone got notified for SAFLI

I'm still waiting to hear about my fellowship... I didn't apply for any of the flagships.
I don't think this is good news.... Let's hope I'm wrong.

I have the same feeling. Doesn't change my goal, but waiting sucks.

I got an email 3 minutes ago, but I'm fellowship so scholarship might be a bit later. It seems that they're covering fellowships first!

ID why but i'm still nervous. I received my email from Boren..not BorenSALFI (like by budget emails). I'm sure i'm stressing for no reason..but still

    Hey good luck!

I applied for Urdu under the SAFLI fellowship! I also received several budget email's from the SAFLI people, even when my first response was to not change anything about my original budget. They kept on reaching out and basically negotiating the budget with me lol Are you Fellowship or Scholarship?

I am applying for the fellowship to learn Hindi in Jaipur. I don't expect to get it since I literally applied last minute with spelling mistakes and all in my letter ;) hahah but at least I tried. I want to study informal labor economics in India to work on policy that economically empowers women. I just got into the university of denver and I'm waiting to hear back from American university. I did not apply for longer than the 6 months, so again might not get it, but you never know! I heard the SAFLI is not as predictable as to who gets it and who doesn't. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Ah... I got an email a week ago about my health insurance for AFLI but there was no mention of possible budget changes. They didn't give me a response either.

They also didn't specify that the emails were being sent to all. Their wording was "if you are awarded, we want to make sure you will have insurance" etc...

Is this for the south Asian flagship program? Or a different one? I didn't get that email.

  8. I haven't had time to go through this forum yet, but I applied for the South Asian Flag Ship program. Has anyone else applied for this? When I emailed them they said the 3rd week of April applicants would be notified and wait listed people the following week. The Flagship coordinator emailed me, "Hi Heidi,

Awardees will be notified the third week of April and wait-listed or alternative awardees should be notified by the end of the month/beginning of next month.

    Good luck"

That means if you don't hear sometime next week you are probably wait listed or rejected.
