  1. But what do you think about the D.C. program?. I was debating between that and UW. Thanks
  2. Hello everyone, I got the admission to 3 doctoral programs. The first is a Professional Doctorate in Defense & Strategic Studies at Missouri State University’s Department of Defense & Strategic Studies in Washington D.C.; The second a Ph.D. in International Studies at the University of Washington seatlle; and the Third a Ph.D. in Global Development at Arizona State University. I'm currently working as a Policy Analyst and my organization focuses on Security, conflict and development issues. My organization is paying for it. For the upper level position in my organization, the doctoral is needed. My question is which among the 3 programs do you think is better? Thank you so much in advance.
  3. Hello everyone, I got the admission to 2 doctoral programs: The first is Defense & Strategic Studies at Missouri State University’s Graduate Department of Strategic Studies in D.C. and the second is a Doctorate in Law & Policy Studies at Northeastern University in Boston. The Strategic Studies Doctorate program is in Washington DC with a strong faculty including the former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and other renowned experts in Foreign Policy and Security Studies. The other program is in Boston and Northeastern has a very good reputation and better ranking and I can specialize in any policy track I want. I’m indecisive about which program to go for. I’m interested in U.S. Foreign policy mainly the security policy towards global threats and want to be able to work in think thanks, consulting companies or the government. Teaching is not really in my plans but will not exclude a part time opportunity. I’m currently a Global sanctions Analyst focusing on trade, economic and military sanctions across the globe and I have a Master in international security. My employer is paying for me so money is not an issue. Which among the two programs do you guys think will be more beneficial and practical in a long term?. Fyi: I’m not attached to the prestige of the school but the program that can help me achieve my goals. Thank you.
  4. Hello everyone, i'm here to find guidance as I'm really confuse what program to choose for the master. I have a bachelor in International studies with 3 years work experience in Global financial crimes. I got the admission from 3 schools : University of San Fransisco MA in international studies, Arizona states university has new Master in Global security studies focusing in global conflict, security and humanitarian affairs, and Northeastern university Master of science in International relations. I'm currently working and leaving in Tempe, Arizona. The confusion i have is between Northeastern university and Arizona state university. The first offers a concentration in conflict resolution and regional studies and the later is an interdisciplinary studies in security studies. I like the security related field but i'm not looking to work with the government or the intelligence community but rather with international organizations. The Global security studies at Arizona states university is a new program but is connected to NEW AMERICA, a think that focusing on global issues in D.C and also the McCain institute of international leadership also in D.C. Both organizations have partnership with the new program and the possibility to intern is high. The program can be complete for the most part online whereas Northeastern offer both option. Northeastern program has also multiple concentrations running from conflict resolution, diplomacy , international economic to regional studies. And according to the program director there is the opportunity to co-op.I have decided to choose a hybrid program because I'm paying out of pocket so i need a flexible program that can allow me continue working. Any advice that can help me determine the best choice between the two prgrams will be greatly appreciated. i'm from west Africa but resident of the US. Thank you.
