I also got an email saying I was waitlisted! I am honestly kinda still excited since I heard their cohorts are a little bigger than most. I want to email them and ask what my rank on the waitlist is because I just got admitted into ECU and need to know if I should just accept their offer.

So I actually went ahead and emailed them and they said they didn't have a set ranking on positions! :( I feel the same way though!  I just found out I got into UF(yay) but I want to do more research into UF before telling ETSU no!  Being on the waitlist is good for now but hopefully we find out soon!!

For anyone that knows anything about University of Florida let me know!  I've heard some iffy things about the program but it's still ranked pretty high!  Just want to get some feedback before I go and visit!

  2. @MBLBPB  So I just got an email saying I was put on the waitlist for USF!  It's not a yes but it's also not a no so I'll take it!  Really hoping I'll get an acceptance!!

For those of you who have been put on waitlist, what are your ideas about asking what position you are on the waitlist?  I just want to know if I'm close to being chosen next or have a lot of people in front of me!

I hope we still have a chance!! I'll keep you updated when I hear from them. Good luck!

Agreed!! I'll do the same!!  I hope to get an email confirming whatever the decision is(waitlist or rejection) soon!! Best of luck to you as well :)

Hi!! So excited to be accepted to USF and I'm seriously considering attending!! Are there other out of staters like myself considering going to USF? My only concern is that it may possibly be more of a commuter program (but I'm not sure!). I hope to have a social life on the weekends with my cohort :)

Congratulations!!  I'm hoping to hear back from them soon!  From what I've heard, the cohort is a little bigger than most and people do commute but I've heard such great things and they all do fun social activities on the weekends! :)

What's the admission website? The one where I filled out additional application to USF or CSDCAS? It's an agony to wait around like this.... I am hoping I hear something by the end of this week!

I believe this is the admission website: https://www.grad.usf.edu/sonic3/status.php ! There's a thing where you click to "check application status" but for me nothing is coming up so I'm assuming they haven't released anything!  I am too!  I've heard that they release their decisions around this time so I'm hoping for next Friday!

It's good(?) that I'm not the only one that hasn't heard from USF but bad that we both are still waiting. Btw, are we supposed to check out status on their admission website? I have not yet figured out what to do with my "USF ID". LOL!

Haha I think that is!  My other friends who applied also haven't heard anything so I'm going to say it's good no ones heard!  I believe we do use the admissions website!  I haven't seen anywhere else to look and I figured we'd just get an email from them!

  7. @SK-AuD From what I understand I think they do!  I know last year, some people were told during their interview(if they received a later one) that they got in at ECU, while in mine, I was told they would let me know in a few weeks.  I've been told just because you haven't heard anything does not mean it's a bad thing! :)

Have you heard back from ETSU, USF or ECU yet?

Hey there!  I have not heard anything from ETSU or USF!  I had an interview with ECU in the beginning of the month, but no decision was released!  I know USF usually doesn't release their decisions until beginning/mid March(from what I've heard) and ETSU does interviews but I haven't heard from them and none of my friends have either!

  9. Hey there!  I actually had a phone interview for ECU this past Friday!  Here are some tips my friends encouraged me to do/my own tips from my experience!

    1. Dress as if you were going into a real interview(that's right, dress pants and a professional shirt even if you're sitting at home!?)  It helps you get into the right mindset!

    2. Find a quiet place with little to no distractions.  You want to be comfortable but be able to focus easily.

    3. Pull up your letter of intent and maybe highlight some things you want to emphasize if they give you the chance! Having a list of the reasons you chose that school (or what sets it apart from the other programs) can be helpful in case you start to blank and keep your nerves at bay.

    4. Come up with some questions about their school to ask at the end of the interview if time permits!  This shows schools that you're serious about their program.

    5.  Relax and remember, they know you're nervous!  Be professional in your voice and even how you answer the phone when they initially call but still remember to smile (or even laugh).  Although they can't see you, you'd be surprised how much that carries in your voice.  Overall they really just want to have a better understanding of who you are!

I hope those are helpful to you and best of luck with your interview!  You got this!?

  10. Hey there!

So I am kind of in the same boat as you!  I have an overall GPA of a 3.8 and my GRE scores are V:152, Q: 146 and AWA: 3.  I am actually retaking the GRE this week in hopes of improving those scores but my practice results make me feel like I won't be improving much!  I am terrified about my scores as well! I feel like the rest of my application materials are solid but my scores really worry me!  I also have decent clinical experience, volunteering and leadership but I still don't know if that'll be enough!  I am applying to UF, USF, Auburn University, University of Tennessee, East State Tennessee and ECU.

    I'm so nervous!

  11. Hey guys!  So I'm new to Grad cafe and I have been looking over anything that contains audiology grad info!  I am applying for the Fall2019 semester(I'm a senior in college now).  I'm currently working on applications but I'm already so nervous about the process of getting accepted/denied!!  Any tips on making the process easier?  I have already taken the GRE once ( V:152, Q:146 Writing: 3.0) and I plan to take it one more time in November for hopefully a higher score( I feel like its low but maybe I'm okay?).  I'm applying to USF,UF, Auburn, University of Tennessee, East Tennessee University and ECU.  I didn't know if I should apply to more?  Or how y'all dealt with tuition for out of state schools?? So much to think about! Any information/recommendations would really help!
