Hi! So I tried posting on here one other time and didn't really get any responses, so I thought I'd try once more. I'm basically wondering what kind of Master's degree I should pursue to practice therapy. I'm interested in: Relationship/family therapy "Positive Psychology"—basically, I'm interested in helping people thrive and find meaning (spiritual counseling?) Career counseling and psychological testing, especially as it relates to personality I'd like to pursue a degree that would allow me to eventually gain my BCBA credential (with some additional schooling) To my knowledge, the only degree that could meet all the above criteria would be some type of clinical psych masters with a relationship/family concentration. If I were to forego the BCBA credential, I could probably go with either an MSW or an MFT degree, as well. Is there anything I'm missing? Thoughts, reflections? Thank you!

Hi there, So, I want to get a Master's degree and get my BCBA credential! However, given that it seems there are a few different Master's degrees I can pursue to that end, I would like to incorporate some of my other therapeutic interests as well to the greatest extent possible. I'm wondering what you fine people might suggest in terms of incorporating some of these towards my BCBA: Group therapy (e.g., relationship/family) Positive & strengths psychology ("finding meaning") Psychological testing Career Counseling This is by no means an exhaustive list of interests, but I'd say these are some of the core ones outside of Behavior Analysis. I suspect I could get into career counseling with any license-granting Master's? Testing is more or less that way, to my understanding, unless I want to do it independently. It's probably worth noting that the ability to have a private practice would be something I'd prioritize pretty highly in general. I know a lot of this varies by location, but I'd like to keep my options open in that regard as well (haha). At present, it's important to me that I can practice in both California and Michigan, but who knows what the future holds?
