References:
one from a U of Toronto biostats prof (working with him on an 8 month research intern on biostats project in cancer research, writing paper draft now, should be strong)
one from a UWaterloo biostats prof (took survival analysis with him, a famous and well-connected prof but not sure about how strong the letter will be. I'm actually happy to do a PhD with this prof)
one from a course prof in Waterloo (probably the top score, not sure if the letter is strong)
one from a course prof in Waterloo (a computational course with a 100% course project, scored 91. Not for biostats programs)
Additional:
Took tons of math heavy courses in undergraduate. Exchanged 4th year to Western U (Canada)
took all kinds of grad level stats courses in Western and Waterloo with good grades (Avg.92/100)
No publication. One biostats research intern. Had a best undergraduate thesis in pure math
I'm sincerely worried about lack of research experience and no publication :(Programs Applying:
Biostats:
UNC, Havard, UMichigan, UWisconsin, UWashington
Stats (haven't decided yet):
UCLA, CMU (maybe??), UMichigan, UC Davis, JHU, UPenn, NCSU (maybe?)
Probably aiming too high especially on stats programs. Looking for advice :)
