I submitted Nov 30th I think - I just put it in with all my other December 1 apps. As I mentioned, the only other one is in March and I know they have sent out some invites, but due to the way they do their application review process it seems possible they're still sending some out.
They have an unusual rolling review process where on Dec. 1 they start reviewing apps that are already in and as they come in until they have enough people for an interview weekend- at which point they send out the invites for the first open house. Since you submitted right at the end you wouldn't have been in the first batch and if they are still reviewing apps they may not have gotten to yours yet.
I submitted my app around November 30 as well. I wish they would have told me that my application had been rejected instead of saying that its still under review. I hope the other poster has better luck than I did.

They had one of their interview weekend already and there other one is in March. I know they've sent out some invitations for the march one but it's very possible they haven't sent all. The interview weekend was just a few days ago so I don't think any of us who went to that one have heard back regarding admissions decisions.
When did you submit your application for Columbia?
I think they also notify students about interviews more than one month prior -

Thanks! I’m still a little confused: does this scholarship mean funding? If I screw up the interview will I have to pay the tuition by myself? Or just out?
For the school I did this interview for they told me that me getting a fellowship would help out that particular PI since she may or may not have funding. I was told that even if I did not receive the fellowship, she would just secure funding for me through other means. Fellowship would also mean that I wouldn't have to TA to get my stipend. I guess it really depends and funding is something you can chat about on skype.

Hi all, I have a question: I have Duke's pathology interview on Feb 20-22, but I receive their email today asking me to skype interview with their director next week. They said it's "The purpose of this interview is to get to know you a little better before we have to submit our scholarship nominations. " Does anyone know what this means? I'm not very familiar with these procedures, what should I prepare for this? Thanks anyone who would help!!!!
Treat it like any other interview. I think this is supposed to be an informal interview before they nominate applicants for a fellowship. The fellowship nominees must be declared fairly early. For your preparation, I would focus on what you like about Duke. Also have a clear idea about the questions you wish to pursue in graduate school.

wow, thanks for the information. I just looked at the faculty interviewers, and their research direction is really beyond my understanding that's why that I feel nervous.
I had one interview with a faculty member whose work was very unfamiliar to me. She went over her research in depth so I could understand, but we mostly talked about why I applied to Mt. Sinai and what my actual research goals are.

Hey, Is there anyone is faculty interview doesn't include a single faculty of interest in their application? kinda nervous about the situation.
Mine did not include any of the faculty that I picked on my application. It's really not a big deal. The MTA directors will have the final call on who gets in. I would definitely talk to both directors + faculty you're interested in working with on the first or second day during lunch hours.

Kind of niche question for yall: so I have a fellowship interview coming up that applies to a specific school. I think they'll strong arm me and force a reply pretty soon after a potential offer - however I have interviews scheduled at a number of places after I think that deadline would be. If I'm offered it and take it, do I just pull out of all the interviews I have scheduled? It'd be bad form to attend other interviews when I've essentially said yes to this other place with a specific fellowship, right?
Only accept if this is your absolute first choice.
If you're unsure and was hoping to use the interview experiences to gauge which school would be a right fit, then don't do get strong armed.
I mean you have probably worked very hard and spent a lot of money applying to all those schools and have earned those interview weekends. The other program shouldn't try to force an immediate answer. -

Thanks for the info! I fly out tomorrow for my interview so I'll make sure to go over a couple papers on the plane.
Good luck! It was a great interview experience for me.

I'm wondering what the student interviews are like, as they're an hour long.
The student interview was actually 20 minutes. Each student interviewed 3 applicants within one hour. It was very relaxed and the only thing that they asked me was about what my research was. The faculty interviews were also very relaxed. They just ask you about your research. I think I only spent 2-3 minutes on that and then most of the interview was spent talking about their own research or things about the school. I do recommend that you read their previous papers.
This place just became my first choice. If you hear anything about post interview acceptance rates for this year would you mind updating this thread? -
Should I send thank you emails after interviews?
Just finished my interview at a biomedicine program. I talked to the interviewers for 30 minutes and the weekend was spent with other faculty members, students, and "upperclassmen".
I don't want it to seem tacky or want to seem insincere -
Want to ask any current students or past interviewees about what the interview was like (for biomedical science).
What sort of questions were you asked? Do you have any idea on what a persons odds are (for admission) after being invited for an interview?
Any general tips on how to do well?
This is my first academic interview so I'm nervous. -

Got an interview invite for Columbia Biological Sciences.
Did you apply under GSAS?
-
Does anyone know if they send out emails in batches?
Since there's been five individual posts for interviews on GradCafe already, I am just going to assume that I have been rejected. -
Does anyone know if Albert Einstein (biomedical science) sends out interview invitations in batches?
I only see one post for it so far.
To people who were notified, did you receive a phone call? -
Anybody hear back from Icahn SOM at Mount Sinai?

I'm interested in evolutionary quantitative analysis as well. I was wondering if you or anyone had any insight into the CUNY EEB program? How did you go about ranking your programs of interest? I only applied local around the Northeast area.
