I’m not sure if you can, but since you are Advanced Standing, the pre-orientation is today (May 1st @ 1:30pm). They should be having field education reps there to help you reach an answer.

Absolutely!! My field education officer offered me three opportunities that were EXACTLY what I wanted. I hope to continue to have a positive experience, but you never know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You have to fill out the field practicum planning form (depending on which track you’re in). You will submit it to the field education office. They will match you with a field education officer and that officer will reach out to you to schedule a consultation appointment. Once you finish the consultation, the officer will let you know of some of the available placements you might be interested in and will send your resume to the possible placement. Hi @Glenda, sorry for the late response, but yes @Karla is right. It should be on your application submission page and there will be a link at the bottom with the decision. The next day or two Hunter does email you a notification of the decision.

Also, I was just checking the Accepted Students Page on Hunter’s website: https://sssw.hunter.cuny.edu/admissions/newly-accepted-students/ and on the Important Dates section, the times are totally different from the times on Eventbrite. When they email us, they should clear that up or one of us will bring it to their attention.

Guys, just was on Eventbrite looking for fun events in the city and I saw that Hunter has scheduled a couple of Pre-Orientation events: https://www.eventbrite.com/d/ny--new-york/silberman/ Things should be moving along quickly this week because the Advanced Standing event is next week! Hey guys!!!! So I hope you’re all doing well!! I was just emailing the Advanced Standing advisor and she said in the next couple weeks, Enrollment Management will be contacting us concerning the next steps. She also said pre-Orientation will take place late Spring-early Summer and, if we have any, to have a list of questions ready. If you already claimed your CUNYfirst account or you’re already a CUNY student, you should be able to access the Hunter email (the username would be CUNYfirst username @ myhunter.cuny.edu). She emphasized checking this for correspondence. I’d suggest we continue to enjoy the relative peace we have in our lives before we begin preparing for this intense year or two years we’ll be in the program. Also, enjoy this summer. If you can, go on vacation or take at least two days to do nothing; you and your body deserve it #selfcare

No, I didn’t receive a confirmation email. I’m already a CUNY student btw so I’m not sure if you are, but this was my experience. What they’ll do is that they’ll process your commitment. Hunter College should email you within a week and a half or so stating that you are officially a Hunter student. Also, I got the same info as the person above. Lopez said the same thing.

Hi everyone! I got my acceptance from Hunter on February 28th (SUBMITTED: 12/18, COMPLETED: 12/19) without interview; this was for the Advanced Standing track. I was very surprised at first to not get any notification for an interview and happened to see the decision from obsessively logging in to check on my app LOL! I was debating between NYU and Hunter, and my heart set on Hunter. I am very happy with my decision and already gave in my deposit. I hope everyone gets in and we see each other either this summer or fall

Hi @doctormelody. I have been in the same rut as you. This waiting process can be frustrating because in some way that email was more than just wanting a response. Everyone who has been brave enough to put themselves out there to these admissions committees are facing a threatened sense of self efficacy. We’re allowing others to judge our work and work ethic. Even possibly fearing that we may not be good enough, that we messed up somewhere in the application, or just worried about rejection. Which we can feel as someone judging our personhood. I just want to say in bold words: WE ARE MORE THAN OUR GRADES AND EXPERIENCES. For me, I have been thinking a lot about why am I so worried. Because I know I can get into all of the schools I applied to - I just have to be patient and wait. The way I have been trying to ease some of this impatience is by watching YouTube or exercise. I’m currently in fieldwork so I’m looking for opportunities to do some process recordings before the start of the semester. Just keep busy and moderate your time on here. Try to dwindle the amount of time you spend on here and if you need to vent, come back and do so, just with self-control and moderation. I hope I was helpful. Please anyone add to the possible ways of moderating our time, I sure know I don’t have all the answers.
