Oh wow. I called them today and asked about my status and I was informed it’s still with the grad school and hasn’t even made its way to the program. I know these things take time but I had the application submitted far before the deadline with my personal statement as the last thing submitted right before. Which probably contributed to this delay but knowing someone who has been accepted was informed they can now register for classes  makes me a little more than worried. Thank you for the information though and congrats on your acceptance!!

Did you talk to the grad school or the actual program? If you can I would try to get in touch with Dr. Roussel - she has been the most helpful to me and I believe she's the head of the program. Hope you find out soon, good luck!

    Re-awakening this thread:

Cutting straight to the chase here to give you my parameters and questions.

    - Looking for a single or studio (no significant other or kids,  holla y'all).

    - Max budget = $1,300 /month

    - Car is essentially hot garbage- need to be bikeable or close to streetcar to get Tulane downtown campus (SOPH).

    1) Has anyone used an agent to find a place to live? I have been reached out to a few from reddit and I am cautious about their intentions... Any feedback on this?

    2) I recently went down to look at areas, and really liked the area around Magazine/Garden district, Mid-city, and CBD. Any grad students that can speak to what areas have worked/not worked for them? I know I will be working a bagillion hours a week, but I am reasonably social and could dig on some local bars and coffee joints. Which of the areas mentioned or not mentioned might be the best fit? (plzz don't say Bourbon street because I know that's a lie).

    Thanks, see you guys soon.

I'm moving to new orleans in May so I'm curious to see what people have to say. I have heard that the Lakeview/Metairie area is safer and a little cheaper, but I haven't gone down to look at anything yet.

    Hi!!!

    Grew up overseas,

-living in Texas, going to undergrad

I applied to A TON of schools just because i wasn't really sure what i was looking for in a program

    - baylor, texas tech HSC, MGHI, Texas state, LSUHSC, LSU-baton rouge, LSU-Shreveport, Chapman, SDSU and Samford

My biggest concern is everything really...

I have an ok gpa (3.56), my gre is ok (not competitive, v: 151, q: 146). I know a lot of my schools are probably reach schools but here's hoping!!! I'm really nervous about the interview process (what will they ask, etc). I've heard back from LSUHSC in New Orleans and Samford and got an interview with both but have heard that LSU only takes 2 out of state students even though I would really like to go there. I'm also nervous that they might ask about research interests. I am interested in TBI's and ASD but not sure how to turn those into research questions

If anyone has any tips about the interview process, etc anything would be greatly appreciated! GOOD LUCK!

Have you had your interview with LSUHSC new orleans yet? Any advice?

    Hello!

Like alot of people this time of the year, I am super stressed out about getting accepted into a graduate program for SLP. I want to be a medical SLP so my programs were very limited. I looked at schools that had Hospitals on their campus/ connected to or programs with unique course. Here are the schools:

    1. University Washington MedSLP (the dream haha)
    2. MGH IHP, Boston
    3. Rush University
    4. CU Boulder (I am an undergrad here now)
    5. University of Kentucky
    6. New York Medical College
    7. Columbia, Teachers College
    8. University of Florida, Gainseville
    9. University of Georgia
    10. Louisiana State University, New Orleans

My GPA is a 3.76 but my GREs are Q: 149, V: 149 W: 4.5. I had a professor tell me there is a 90% chance I won't get in to any of these programs.

I have both research and clinical experience with a lot of observation hours; and volunteering work. I just finished my SLPA program this fall.

To past applicants, do I have a shot at these programs or should I add some less competitive programs? Please help a girl out cause I am a hot mess rn.

LSUHSC-NO sent out inerviews via email recently!
