  1. I also had to turn down a Ph.D offer from Indiana. In my case, the scholarship package just wasn't enough for me go there. I did get a response that asked me where I have decided to go for Ph.D. I really liked my POI there, but even before I could seriously consider going there, the financial obstacle was simply insurmountable.
  2. I saw this in other majors and I thought we could have one for religious studies as well. 1) Where did you turn-down? 2) Why did you turn-down those universities? 3) How did you turn-down & what are the responses you received?
  3. I am not sure what is going on inside. When I posted on the results page, I had an informal contact from my POI. A week or so after, I got an official offer. I was told that the official information concerning scholarship will be emailed sometime beginning of March. Since I had the informal offer, I've been actively communicating with the professors and other people of the department. I didn't know that there is an "internal crisis" as FrigidSky701 mentioned; when I communicated with them, it seemed like everything was rolling according to how it should be. According to the information I have, I can infer that the notifications to be made after the official scholarship decision (beginning of March) will be 1) admission without scholarship or 2) rejection. What do you think?
  4. I am that mysterious person
  5. After J.Z.Smith's post I considered myself out for Princeton (I didn't get an interview). I am so shocked that I just got an informal email from my POI from Princeton that I am accepted. Now I am super thrilled!!! At the same time, I am curious about their admission process. Can anyone explain?
  6. I got a personal acceptance email, which said that I will be getting a formal acceptance letter in about two weeks. My "feeling" from reading that email is that the department may send out more acceptances, so I think there may be still some more chances
  7. Hello all, I have been lurking this forum for a while, but now my patience reached its limit and I am dying to know what is happening with Princeton. Does anyone know? I saw that one applicant had an interview early January, but I also know what Princeton is on a rolling-basis. I haven't received any interview invitation or anything from them yet. Should I just consider myself out? I got an acceptance email from UCSB in case anyone is wondering what is happening with UCSB. They said that they accepted me out of their first-round review, so I guess they could be releasing more acceptances later. Currently, I have Indiana & UCSB acceptance, and I am waiting for Princeton (I didn't apply anywhere else). If I know a bit more about what is going on in Princeton, then I could move onto the decision process of where I should accept. I applied for Buddhist studies with a MA in Buddhist studies. My grades are really average and plain.
