OMG guys, I got into Yale!!! Can't believe my acceptance comes this late in the cycle and from Yale out of all places as well

Looks like Yale has really been taking their sweat time with decisions...

Oof rejected from Michigan, thought I had a good fit and strong letter for the program but oh well

Anyone still waiting for Yale and Michigan? I thought usually they would have released their results by now.

I'm Applying to a few American Studies programs! Second year in my MA rn and this will be my Third PhD cycle (hopefully this last lol)!

Update: Turns out I was officially rejected

Hi I wonder have you heard anything from the department yet? I sent an email to the department to check my status and they told me they already sent out the first wave of acceptances and are waiting for those people to accept/decline the offer before making further offers. So I guess I'm also on an waitlist of sorts

Update, I just heard back from the department, they said they've already sent out their decisions and those who have not been contacted are either on a waitlist or straight-up rejected.

Officially rejected from UCSB, definitely saw that coming but still a bit disappointed.

I emailed the department about when I can expect a decision last week and have heard nothing from them as well. Also according to the posts last year they had already accepted people by now.

Did anyone hear anything from them yet? Haven't seen anything on the results page or here. I do know they are looking at a smaller cohort this year tho.

I emailed the department yesterday asking if I'm waitlisted or rejected and they got back to me this morning saying they are still in the process of making decisions and it could still take weeks. So I guess it could mean they still haven't sent out all decisions yet.

Nope, I would assume I'm rejected but I did email the department and they say to expect the result in March

Well, that's quite disappointing for sure, I'll shoot them an email asking about my status then. BTW did you applied to UCSB Global Studies? If so have you heard from them?

I’m thinking they’re taking too long as well, perhaps they’ve already send out an wave of acceptance? But then again, faculties certainly do take their time in these situations. I figure if I still don’t get an response by early next week I might email them.

Honestly I have no clue. Do you know how many people they have interviewed? I think there was around 12 ish people at the info session last week. I know they are looking to enroll 6-7 student for 2023 so I would assume they are looking to accept the majority of the people who were interviewed.

Hi I was interviewed last Friday and haven't heard anything back yet. They said they'll release the decisions "after a few days" but I guess not lol
