But with my degree I was able to switch and do something else that I like. If I had gone with a counseling degree I wouldn't have been able to make that change. Just something to think about!! If you're sure counseling is for you then by all means, look at counseling. But also compare what counselors make to social workers, that might have an effect on your decision.

I would suggest you search online for the specifics of the day-to-day responsibilities of these roles and see if you can even talk to some people who have the type of job you envision. This will help you get a better idea of what each of these professions does on a regular basis. 

It isn't very vague. It is geared more towards elementary counseling, since they work with students who need emotional and academic support each day.

I would love to help give advice and guide children whenever they need it with more of a one-on-one basis. I want them to feel comfortable enough that they can come to me and talk.

[California Prepatory Online Colleges SLP 2020]

Hi All,

 I had a question that I was hoping I could get some insight on. I am in a current speech pathology program at CSUSM. I am not very happy with the program as I feel it is extremely impacted and I don't feel any of the professors really seem interested in guiding any of there future SLP's. I was wondering if anyone knew of some great prepatory SLP online program here in California? I am open to any and all or in Arizona. I have only taken 2 courses and I am already feeling I may have chosen the wrong school. I did some research and my college didn't even pop-up for possible prepatory programs. I am very grateful for being given the opportunity to attend but I am feeling very frustrated. I would greatly appreciate any and all insight and recommendations to help me through this difficult time.

[Does anyone have any experience in Online Post Bacc Programs?]

Hi, I am in the same situation as MrsRobbxDrogo. I have a BA in a different subject area but looking at different colleges within southern california and riverside county, where i am moving too. Does anyone have any recommendations of the best online colleges that are decently priced? I would greatly appreciate the help.
