  1. Hi all, As if the whole graduate admissions process anxiety hasn't already gotten to me, I have yet another possibly big reason to be anxious. I applied to the wrong program and all but certain it was an accident. I'm applying to Rutgers Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, specifically the Master of City and Regional Planning (MCRP) program. Now I'm assuming that in my haste I selected it by accident while filling out the application, and I did see I applied for MCRS before but didn't think anything of it at the time up until today when one of my recommenders pointed it out to me that Master of City and Regional Studies (MCRS) was different from MCRP. I promptly called the admissions officer who I had communicated with last week about another matter and left a message on her voicemail (they were gone for the day when I called) regarding the issue. I'm. sure she'll call me back tomorrow but I'm still panicking that nothing can be done. Both programs are under the same umbrella (for lack of a better term) so that's giving me a sliver of hope that this is a mistake that can be corrected easily, but I'm still extremely anxious about it. Has anyone had any similar experience and can possibly give me some guidance on what I can do/expect?
  2. Worry: I’m glad to know I’m not the only one panicking. I submitted my application at the end of February, got them (Rutgers Bloustein school) my transcript (unofficial) like a week or two ago, and I uploaded my resume today—I thought I had given it to them already, guess not. Now I’m waiting on one more recommendation letter, but the person is very busy, so until he gets that to them, my application is stuck on pending. The amount of anxiety I’ve felt within the past few weeks has thrown me into a mini-tizzy considering this is the only school I’ve applied to. My GPA is a 3.0 with A’s in a lot of my Urban Studies courses (I’m an urban admin major from NYIT) and I expect it to go up as soon as this semester concludes, but my GRE scores aren’t too hot except for writing. I wish they could just tell you in a matter of a day instead of taking a while, but it’s not much I can do I suppose. I also wish that they could just interview me too because I feel as if that could definitely help my application. But I have no idea if the program does that (Urban Planning and Policy, MCRS) so I guess I just have to wait and if I don’t get in I gotta accept my fate.
