I just accepted my Ph.D. offer at a university and I was given an assistantship offer but without any details weather, it's TA or RA. I was not interviewed by any of the POI''s I listed in my application and was admitted without an interview. So my question is, should I contact my POI now? I have looked at the department FAQ's webpage and they say that admitted students will get to meet the faculty when the semester starts and will have an advisor assigned by then. However, they had a campus visit in late February where students were able to meet advisors, so I am not sure if the stuff on their website is reliable?
