  1. All departments including epid? Wow, first rejection.
  2. Cong! That would be a good sign. I also applied to WUSTL. I haven’t heard anything from the committee. I start to worry about my app.
  3. I contacted one faculty from Brown EPID last month. He told me that the review committee meets in Jan. So maybe they still work on application review. We may need to wait for more days to hear from the committee. Good luck!
  4. No interview. Pitt is great but the funding may be a problem.
  5. Thank you! I am anxious these days. Wish you could be admitted by your dream program too. I will share with you guys once I hear from other programs.
  6. I all applied tracks of physical activity epidemiology and randomized controlled trials.
  7. Happy to discuss with you. Undergrad GPA: 3.74/4 Grad GPA: 3.65/4 GRE: V68%+Q 83%, AW 4.0. TOEFL: 100 Reseach: Visiting reserach student in US for about half a year. Working as a biostatistician for more than 1 year. Pub: 3 pubs (one on cohort study, one reivew and one on qualitative study) and 1 under review. Honestly, my backgorund may be not strong enough compared with you guys. I think my strength lies at background in Epid and Biostat, SOP (specific research interests and clear career goals) and two strong RLs.

  9. Happy to see you guys here. I am an international Epid PhD applicant. I applied to JHU (Aging track), UNC, George Washington, Pittsburgh, Yale, Brown and Washington U in SL. I submitted my application On Nov 20. Received the admission letter from UPitt last week. But it didn't mention the funding. I am still waiting to hear from other programs. Could anyone share any information about UNC? Really want to go to this program!
  10. Hi all, I will apply Ph.D in epidemiology of 2020 fall. I really have on idea on selection of epidemiology programs. Please give me some advice. Here is my background. My undergraduate GPA: 3.74/4.00 (Bachelor of Preventive Medicine), graduate GPA: 3.65/4.00 (MSc in EPID and BIOSTAT) GRE: 155 (V) + 164 (Q) + 4, TOEFL:100. I was a visiting research student of a USA university for about half year, during which time I have three publications (two first-author) and one currently under review. I'm not sure whether it will get published before submitting application materials. I also have more than one year experience of statistical analysis for clinical trials (skilled at SAS and R). Thank you a lot!
